Operation HOPE, Inc. (HOPE) is America’s leading financial literacy and economic empowerment nonprofit organization. Founded immediately following the 1992 Rodney King riots in South Los Angeles, HOPE now operates in 70 U.S. communities, South Africa and the Middle East. After the tragedies of September 11, 2001, HOPE identified a need for Financial Emergency Preparedness that reduces recovery time, and HOPE Coalition America (HCA) was created to address that need. HCA is a national partner with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Citizen Corps, and the American Red Cross and is an active member of National Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (NVOAD). Through a collaboration of professionals from the banking, financial services and insurance industries, along with educators, government officials and community leaders, HCA provides financial recovery services and disaster preparedness guidance to individuals and small businesses before and after man-made or natural disasters.
