The.dark.clouds.looked.as.if.they.may.stop.Heroes.Day,.an.event.designed.to.honor.the.men.and.women.and.their.families.who.serve.the.Lake.Travis.area.in.Police.and.Fire.Rescue..The.clouds.passed.and.provided.a.beautiful.evening.to.celebrate.and.honor.those.local.heroes.present...“The.police.force.and.fire.and.rescue.departments.in.the.Lake.Travis.area.serve.and.protect.our.community.everyday..We.wanted.to.serve.them.for.a.change,”.said.Jeremy.Self,.Lead.Pastor.of.Free.Chapel.

On.Sunday.evening,.August.29,.Free.Chapel.rented.out.the.Lakeway.Swim.Center.and.opened.it.for.a.free.evening.of.entertainment.and.dinner.for.all.Lakeway.and.Bee.Cave.Police.Departments.and.Lake.Travis.Fire.and.Rescue.and.their.families..

Rudy’s.BBQ.provided.the.delicious.barbecue,.served.up.by.some.volunteers.of.Free.Chapel..Brightly.colored.sno-cones,.provided.by.Church.at.Bee.Cave,. satisfied.all. the.kids’. sweet. tooth’s..Calliope.Musicals,.a.local.band,.provide.entertainment.for.the.evening..Free.Chapel.and.the.Church.at.Bee.Cave.were.glad.to.partner.together.for.this.meaningful.evening..Additionally,.Ben.Archer.State.Farm,.Elite.Wellness.and.Chiropractic,.Square.Cow.Moovers,.and.Office.

Stampede. for. the.Cure.is.a.100.yard.high.heel.dash.with.a.mission.to.encourage.young.women.and.men.to.understand.the.risks.of.breast.cancer.and.empower.them. to. prevent. the. disease. by.utilizing. overall. breast. self-awareness. through. early. detection,.screening.methods.and.education..

The.100-yard.dash.will.be.held.Saturday,.October.16,.2010.at.the.Hill.Country.Galleria.starting.at.9.am,.and.will.consist.of.four.race.heats:.The.Survivor.Stampede,.honoring.all.cancer.survivors;.The.Stiletto.Stampede,.the.stiletto.race.heat;.The.Stroller.Stampede,.featuring.moms.and.dads.in.heels;.The.Pooch.Scooch,.encouraging.participants..dress.their.pooches.and.scooch!..Immediately.following.the. race,. the. Hill. Country. Galleria. Dillard’s. will. be. hosting. a.race.post.party.including.a.fall. fashion.show,.custom.bra.fittings,.complimentary.makeovers.and.giveaways.
