CALL TO WORSHIP
How good to sing praises to our God! How delightful and how fitting!
The Lord counts the stars and calls them all by name.
God sends his orders to the world—how swiftly his word flies!
The Lord supports the humble, but he brings the wicked down into the dust.
God pays no mind to the strength of weapons or in human might.
The Lord’s delight is in those who revere him, those who put their hope in His unfailing love.
Come, let us worship the Lord!
*HYMN 634 To God Be the Glory TO GOD BE THE GLORY
CONFESSION
Eternal God, you have called your church to be a community for all people, an ark of
salvation to the ends of the earth. Despite this identity though, we are content to self-
segregate to our comfort zones. We are reluctant to reach out to people who are different
than us. Instead of a diverse, messy, and faithful church, we would rather have a safe group
that looks like us, believes like us, and votes like us. Forgive us, Lord. Renew in our hearts a
vision for reaching out to and including those unlike ourselves so that we might be more
faithful to the gospel itself. We pray these things in Jesus’ name.

INVITATION
PRAYER OF THANKSGIVING
The Lord be with you,
And also with you.
Lift up your hearts.
We lift them to the Lord.
Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
It is right to give our thanks and praise.
Blessed are You, O God, and blessed is Jesus Christ, Your only Son, whom You sent out of love
for the world to be our Savior. By the Holy Spirit’s power, He was born of us, shared our joys and
sorrows, and offered His life in perfect obedience and trust. By His death, Christ delivered us
from our sins. By His resurrection, He grants us new and abundant life. By His love, He sanctifies
the church to be His holy bride and now, prepares the wedding banquet.
Dying, You destroyed death. Rising, You restored life. Lord Jesus, come in glory. When we eat
this bread and drink this cup, we proclaim Your death. Lord Jesus, come in glory.
Together we pray…
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts as we
forgive our debtors, and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil, for Thine is the
kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. Amen.
