Purpose
These guidelines will guide learners to register, set up their profile and log in on
the ePortal.
Synopsis
After registering on the ePortal FET learners will receive relevant digital content
pushed to their profiles by the individual subject senior curriculum planner
according to their subject choices. This functionality will eliminate the need for
extensive and time-consuming searching, but rather provide learners with
relevant and local eContent as per CAPS standards and requirements.

Instructions
1. Browse the WCED ePortal and click on REGISTER.

2. Select REGISTER A LEARNER.
3. Register as a learner on the next window by adding your name, surname
email address and password. Tick I AM NOT A ROBOT and select CREATE MY
EPORTAL ACCOUNT.

4. If you do not have an email address, select the DON’T HAVE AN EMAIL? link
and follow the steps to create an email address. You can choose between a
Microsoft: Mahala account or a Gmail account. Then return to the
Registration tab and complete your registration.
5. According to POPIA regulations, an adult needs to register a minor on an
online platform (a minor is a learner younger than 18).

6. An email will be sent to your registered email account. Please verify the
correctness of your account by selecting the link provided in the email and
sign in.
7. Select the name of your school and grade. You can change your profile
background colour and add your profile picture.

8. Complete your learner profile by adding your subject offering at school. You
need to register a minimum of seven subjects, but can register a maximum of
10 subjects by clicking on +. Subjects may be selected in any order. When
completed click on SAVE CHANGES.
9. Note the changes to the ribbon displaying MY DASHBOARD and MY PROFILE.
You can change the TERM when searching for specific content.
a. MY PROFILE: go here to make changes to your profile, i.e. subject
choices, etc.
b. MY DASHBOARD: go here to let subject eResources find you!
10. There are 3 tabs to sort your subject resources.

a. Weekly lessons: refreshed on a weekly and quarterly basis
b. eResources: Resources to help you with important concepts, multimedia
resources, videos, etc.
c. Assessments: Past Papers, exemplars, revision exercises, etc.
11. Remember to log out by clicking on the SIGN OUT button.
12. When logging in next time click on the SIGN IN button. Reset your password
by selecting the FORGOT PASSWORD? Link. An email with instructions will be
sent to your registered email address.
