The HOD as the voice of members governs the profession and develops policy on major professional issues.

while safeguarding the Academy’s reputation and integrity?

Spring HOD Meeting Objectives
1. Understand the impact of sponsorship program on the profession, Academy Foundation, and the Academy, including DPGs, MIGs, Affiliates.
2. Identify the Academy’s steps in evaluating alignment with a potential sponsor.
3. Identify elements of the Academy’s corporate sponsorship program that need to be retained or modified.

Sponsorship Motion
Guiding principles identified and actions needed:1.A full report of the effects of sponsorship by September 1, 20152.Strategic communications plan to all members-clear/concise; solicit input from HOD when evaluating potential sponsors.3.Transparency with sponsorship details ($$ received, allocation of $$, commitments, etc). Web page and annual report TBD.

4. Sponsorship guidelines to include:- no logos- no endorsements- sponsor products consistent with EB
nutrition guidelines- opportunities for smaller companies- support/promote healthy eating, vision
and mission, goals of the Academy- full disclosure on sponsorship agreements-all DPGs, MIGs, etc to abide by guidelines
