Transcript of Dnote Xpress - Issue 21 - January 2016 - Fiinovation

  • Looking at the Delhi skyline during

winters, it is understandable that gone are

the days when we had fresh air to breathe.

The i r reparable damage done by

    unsustainable anthropogenic acvies is

actually hing us back. However, its not a

point of no return, rather an opportunity

to make sincere eorts to protect and conserve our

    environment from further degradaon.

The start of 2016 saw some stern acon taken by the Delhi

Government and Naonal Green Tribunal to curb the rising

polluon levels in the Naonal Capital Region. Although,

experts quesoned the viability of the road raoning plan,

but Delhiites (despite their daily problems) came out to

    support the 15 day iniave.

Today, the me has come for people to collaborate and

change our atude towards pracces that aects the

environment and society at large. We cannot let our future

generaons suer from the mistakes that we commit today.

So, let's pledge to make our naon clean, green and a beer

    place to live.

that has been previously being implemented in various other cies

globally to curb air polluon was something that was both supported

and cricised by the people. Though stascs suggest that only aer

long term implementaon of signicant measures can bring down the

polluon in NCR, the age old problem of trac congeson was

something that was denitely solved. Now, it will be interesng to know

how other iniaves such as increasing green cover, vaccum cleaning of

roads, ban on burning of wastes and shung down of the pollung

industries will be enforced in future. There needs to be collecve eorts

from individuals, companies and government to bring in the change

through an-polluon measures such as carpooling, greener

technologies etc alongwith improvement of public transport.
