    1. MODEL SELECTOR - This is where you pick the model you want to use; it comes up pre-set to a great sound.

    2. DELAY TIME - Typically sets the amount of delay time. Check the delay model descriptions for more details.

    3. REPEATS - Typicallyadjuststheamountofrepeatsofyourdelayfromonetoinnity.Check the delay model descriptions for more details.

    4. TWEAK - This is a special control unique to individual delay models. Check the delay model descriptions for more details.

    5 TWEEZ - This is the other special control unique to individual delay models. Check the delay model descriptions for more details.

    6. MIX - Thisknobisalwaysusedtosetthemixbetweenthedry/direct/unprocessedsignalandtheprocessedsignal.Turncounterclockwiseformoredrysignal.

    7. STOMP SWITCHES -ForallmodelsexceptLOOPSAMPLER,theseswitcheschooseoneofthe3memories.Steponaswitchtogetthesoundthatwasstoredthere.Tochangewhatsinamemory,holdoneoftheseswitchesfor3seconds:thatwillstorewhateversoundyouarecurrentlyhearing,soyoucanrecallitbypressingthatswitch.

    8. TAP TEMPO - Tap this in quarter notes a few times to sync the delay time with your music.

    LOOP SAMPLER - Using your switches

    RECORD/OVERDUB - PresstostartRecording.Ifyoupressthisswitchasecondtimewhilerecording,therecordingwillnish,loopplaybackwillimmediatelybegin,andyoullbeinOverdubmode.Witheachpassofrecordinginoverdubmode,thealready-recordedsoundgetsalittlequieter,eventuallyfadingawayentirely.

    PLAY/STOP - Onceyouverecordedtheloop,usethisswitchtostartandstoptheloop.FromStop,pressingthisstartsplaybackfromthebeginningoftheloop.FromPlayorOverdub,pressingitstopsplayback/overdub.YoucanalsosteponthisswitchwhileRecordingtostoptherecordingandstartimmediateloopplayback.

    PLAY ONCE - Thisswitchallowsoneshotplayback(thePlayOnceandPlay/Stoplightscomeonduringoneshotplayback).FromStop,pressthisswitchtoplayyour loop one time and stop. From Record, press Play Once to stop recording and start one shot playback immediately. From Play, this switch will turn on Once mode,meaningtheloopwillcontinueplayingtotheendoftheloopandstop.IfPlayOnceisalreadyturnedon,pressingthisswitchwillre-triggerthestartoftheloop.(Youcan stutter with this.) From Overdub, things are the same as from Play: press the switch, and loop playback (and the Overdub) will stop at the end of the loop.

    1/2 SPEED/REVERSE - Thisisadualfunctionswitch.Onetapgetsyouhalfspeed,andadouble-tapwillgiveyoureverse.Youcanevenusethembothatthesametime.

    9. INPUT/OUTPUT -Justfollowthelabelsandplugintheinputsandoutputs.Theleftinputalsoactsasanon/offswitch:theunitwillbeoffifnocableisconnectedhere.Whenrunningwithbatteries,unplugtheleftinputtoconservepowerwhennotusingthepedal.

    10. EXPRESSION PEDAL - TheoptionalLine6expressionpedalletsyourfootcontroloneormoreoftheparametersofyoureffectwhileyourhandsarebusymakingmusic.Operationisdesignedtobesimple:PoweroffyourStompBoxModelerbyunpluggingtheLEFT/MONOINPUT.Next,pluginyourExpressionPedal,andsettheexpressionpedaltothefullheel-downposition.Plugtheleft/monoinputbackin(thisturnstheStompBoxbackon)anddialupasoundyoulike.Nowpresstheexpres-sionpedalforwardtothefullytoe-downposition,andsetoneormoreofyourknobstoanothersetting.Rockbackandforthonyourexpressionpedal,andyoullhearyoursoundblendbetweenthetwosoundsettingsyoujustmade.Storethissoundintooneofyourpedalsmemories,andboththetoe-downandheel-downsnapshotsofthesoundwillbesaved.Useasmanyandwhicheverknobsyoulikewiththeexpressionpedal,exceptthemodelselector.Recallingastoredmemorylaterwithouttheexpression pedal connected gives you the heel-down setting only.

    11. POWER SUPPLY - YoucanpurchaseanoptionalLine6ACpowersupplytorunyourpedaloryoucanchoosetopoweryourStompBoxModelerwith4Csizebatteries.Werecommendalkalinebatteriesforlonglife.Unpluggingtheleft/monoinputturnsthepedaloff,sobesuretounplugitwhenyourenotusingthepedaltoconservebatterypower.Allfourlightsonyourpedalwillashwhenyourbatterieshavenearlyrunout.

    Sweep EchoThisModelisaLine6original.StartingwiththebasictoneofourEP-1tapedelayemulation,weaddedasweepingltereffectto the delay repeats to give you unique new creative possibilities for adjusting the tone of your delays. TWEAK adjusts the sweepspeed. TWEEZadjuststhesweepdepth.Youcanusethesecontrolstocreateandexploreyourownshiftinglandscapeoftonalpossibilities.WiththeoptionalLine6expressionpedal,youcansetthingsupsothatthepedaltakesyoufromnomodulation(TWEEZ at its minimum value) at the heel-down position to swimming modulation when you pedal forward, so you can bringouttheSweeppartoftheSweepEchoforyourbigsolo.

    Lo Res Delay

    Therstdigitaldelayunitswereintroducedintheearly80s.Thesepedalsandrackboxestookadvantageofemergingdigitaltechnologytoprovideguitaristswithlongerdelaytimes.Unlikethehighresolution24BitprocessingofyourLine6DelayMod-eler,theseearlydigitalunitsgenerallyhadonly8bitresolution.Lowbitresolutioncancreateauniquesortofgrungeandnoisethatissometimesjustthesoundyourelookingfor.Earlymodeldigitalsamplersaresometimesusedinmodern-dayindustrialandelectronica to achieve these effects. TWEAK adjusts tone. TWEEZadjustsdigitalresolutionfrom6to24bits.

    Analog Echo w/ Mod based on* Electro-Harmonix Deluxe Memory Man.This pedal uses the bucket brigade electronics of other analog echoes, and adds a chorus circuit. This adjustable chorus is ap-plied to the echoes only, leaving the direct sound unaffected. This popular pedal, with its warm, distorted tone and swimmingechoes,becameanimportanttoolformanyguitarists,andwasanessentialpartoftheguitarsoundsfortherstU2album.PartoftheDeluxeinDeluxeMemorymanwas theincreaseddelaytimeof500milliseconds.YourDelayModelersAnalogEchoemulatesclassicMemorymantonewiththeaddedadvantageof2.5secondsofdelaytime.TWEAK adjusts modulation speed.TWEEZ adjusts modulation depth.

    Ping PongThePingPongDelayhastwoseparatechannelsofdelay,withtheoutputofeachchannelowingintotheother,goingbackandforth like a game of ping pong. The DELAY TIME knob sets the time for the left side delay line, and the TWEAK knob sets thetimefortherightsidedelayline,asapercentageoftheMainDelayTime.Soundtootricky?JustturnDELAY TIME to set the

    longer delay time you hear, and turn TWEAK to adjust the shorter delay time. If you set TWEAKstraightupat12oclock,yourleft and right delays are evenly spaced. TWEEZ adjusts stereo spread (at minimum, signal is mono).

    Stereo Delays

    Everaskedyourself,HowdidTheEdge(U2)getthatgroovysoundonWheretheStreetsHaveNoName?Stereodelays,myfriend.ItsthesecrettomanyaU2song,aswellastheBigL.A.Solosoundofthelate80s.Signalsthatcomeintheleftandrightinputsarekeptdiscrete,processedseparately,andpassedouttheleftandrightoutputsseparately(foramonoin/outhookup,leftandrightdelaysarebothsenttotheleft/monoout).DELAY TIME adjusts left channel delay time. REPEATSadjusts left channel repeats. TWEAK adjusts delay time for your right channel. TWEEZ adjusts repeats for your right channel.

    Rhythmic DelayThisisahandyplacetocomewhenyouwantadelaythatkeepsacertainrhythmwithyourmusic.Heresthebasicidea:youtap quarter notes on the tap tempo switch. Then you turn the DELAY TIME knob to set the note value you want for your delaytime.Youcantapquarternotes,andyourcleverlittleStompBoxModelerwillgiveyoubackdelaysineighthnotetripletsoroneof5othertimevaluesthatyouchoose.Nowletssayyouwanteighthnotedelaysforonesectionofapieceofmusic,andeighthnotetripletsforanotherpassage.Usetheoptionalexpressionpedal,setituptocontroltheDELAY TIMEknobsrhythmsettings, and pedal your way to whatever timing suits the musical moment. TWEAK adjusts modulation speed. TWEEZ adjustsmodulation depth.

    sampler, so when you record, you will record the echoes as well. DELAY TIME adjusts the pre-loop echo time. REPEATSadjuststhe number of repeats for the pre-loop echo. TWEAK adds modulation for the pre-loop echo. TWEEZ is a volume control forthe pre-loop echo. MIXcontrolsthevolumeofyourLoopSamplerplayback.

    Auto-Volume Echo.

    Thismodelgivesyoutwoeffectsinone.TheAutoVolumepartoftheequationisavolumefade-inswell,liketheattacktimeonasynthesizersenvelopegenerator.Thiscanbeusedforabowingeffect,liketheoneyougetbyturningthevolumeknobonyourguitarquicklyupfromzerojustafteryoupickanote.Theothereffectisanecho,completewithtape-stylewow&uttermodulation. TWEAK sets modulation depth. TWEEZ sets ramp time for the auto-volume swell.

    Dynamic Delay based on* T.C. Electronic 2290ThiseffectwasmadepopularbytheT.C.Electronic2290DynamicDigitalDelay.Thisisasortofsmartvolumecontrolforyourdelayeffectsechoes,andsetstheloudnessofthedelayechoesbasedonhowhardyouplay.Whileyouplay,theDynamicDelaykeepsthevolumeoftheechoesturneddown,sothattheechoesdontoverwhelmwhatyouredoing.Then,whenyoustopplaying for a moment, the volume level of the repeats turns up to allow the echoes to be heard. TWEAK sets the threshold thebreakpoint where this automatic volume control stops working and lets the echoes through at full volume. TWEEZ adjusts thelevel of the ducked repeats higher settings will duck the delay level down more.

    Reverse.!seltaeBehtdnaxirdneHimiJekiltsuJTakeastepbackintimewithyourcoolnewreversedelay.Whateveryouplayincomesback at you backwards, delayed by the time you set with the DELAY TIME knob (1.25 seconds max). To use this little wondermost effectively, try playing a legato lick, ignoring the reverse playback as well as you can. Longer licks can translate into verycoolreversephrases.WhenusingReverse,trysettingMIXfully-clockwise(100%wetness)soallyouhearisthereversedsound instant backwards guitar solo fun. TWEAK adjusts speed for a modulation of the delay. TWEEZ adjusts depth for a modula-tion of the delay.

    Using your LOOP SAMPLERTurn TWEEZtominimumtoturnoffthePre-LoopEchounit,andsetMIXstraightup.Playarhythmguitarpart.Onceyouvegotagroove,taptheRECORD/OVER-DUB switch at the downbeat of your measure, record two bars worth of rhythm, and then stomp on PLAY/STOP again at the downbeat of what would be the thirdmeasure.

    Nowyoucanoverdubaleadpart.TurnupTWEEZ to add some echo on your lead; DELAY TIME and REPEATS control the echoes, and TWEAK lets you add somemodulation to the echo. MIXletsyoutoturndownthevolumeoftheloopplayback.Iftheloopsnotalreadyplaying,startloopplaybackwiththePLAY/STOP switch,andgetafeelforwhatyouwanttorecord.Onceyoureready,hittheRECORD/OVERDUB switchastheloopplaysandgowildfortwobars.Youcankeeptheoverdubrunningaftertherstloopthroughandrecordasecondlayer,foradoubledsolo.HittheRECORD/OVERDUB switch at the end of your two bars to turn off overdub,and your loop will keep playing rhythm plus solo.

    Hitthe1/2 SPEED/REVERSEswitchonceandyoullhearthewholethingathalfspeed.Then,double-tapthisswitchandyoullbeplayingbackwards,andstillathalfspeed.Astheloopplays,tapRECORD/OVERDUB andlaydownsomemoreguitar.HitRECORD/OVERDUB to stop the overdubbing and play the whole shebang,and then double-tap the 1/2 SPEED/REVERSEswitch.Nowtheloopisplayingforwardagain,andthelastpartyourecordedisbackwardinrelationtoeverythingelse.One more tap on 1/2 SPEED/REVERSEandhalfspeedturnsoff.Youcanimaginewhereahalfhourofthiskindofthingcouldgetyou.

TapRECORD/OVERDUB whiletheloopplaysandstartoverdubbing.DragyourpickonthelowEstring,immediatelyfollowedbyanotewitha strong attack and some sustain. Tap RECORD/OVERDUB (stops the overdub and keeps the loop playing) and then double-tap 1/2 SPEED/REVERSE. Freak out.
