DIY Yarn Xmas Decorations

Some ideas to make Christmas decorations/ornaments using yarn to decorate your home or your Christmas tree, fun, simple and accessible also for the kids.

Materials:

white glue

water

toothpicks (or pins/spikes)

ballon

cotton yarn or cotton thread (red or any other color you want)

scissor

brush

Steps to follow:Mix equal parts of white glue and water.

Dip the yarn into the glue mix, being careful not to create knots.

Yarn Xmas Stars

Place the star template on a base (piece of foam/cardboard/wood)

Use toothpicks (pins or spikes) to outline the shape of the star and then twine the yarn around to

make the star

Mark the edges of the star and then passing the yarn inside and out; fill it with circles and press

with your fingers so that it is flat.

Remove the toothpicks carefully before it is completely dry.

Suggestions: with the same technique, you can make other patterns of Christmas ornaments, such as angels, hearts, Christmas trees and so on.

Xmas Yarn ballsXmas Yarn Ball Lights

Inflate a balloon to keep a circular shape to the desired size.

Start to wrap the balloon with the yarn as you like (balls with wide gaps or more covered).

With a brush (or your fingers) daub the twisted wires on the balloon and then let it dry hanging by a

thread for a night.

Make sure that it's completely dry, and finally remove the balloon.

Suggestions: You can put the lights inside the ribbon balls and create a strand of Christmas lights.
