I invite you to support Divots for Diabetes, our 7th annual golf tournament and spa day happening on June 14, 2015 at Hockley Valley a world-class championship course in Orangeville, Ontario.

The event brings together over 60 people from southern Ontario to raise awareness and funds for the Canadian Diabetes Association.

Entering our seventh year of Divots for Diabetes, we will repeat the success of the previous years while expanding our outreach and promotion to over 100 business professionals, community leaders, and supporters.

As a sponsor, your brand will be proudly displayed on event flyers, correspondence and social media. You will be highlighted as a socially conscious brand that is invested in enhancing health care and helping the 9 million Canadians living with diabetes and prediabetes.

WHERE DOES YOUR MONEY GO?

The funds raised are directed towards the Canadian Diabetes Associations’ mission of helping to support diabetes research, advocacy, education and programs.

An example of one of these programs is Camp Huronda, a two-week summer camp for children with Type 1 diabetes, designed to help them learn more about managing their disease. For children, attending this camp can be a life altering experience, as it was for my Brother. He went to Camp Huronda thinking he was different and alone as he was the only kid in his elementary school who had diabetes. He returned a week later, excited and supported, with a new outlook on his disease.

Curious about other ways your donation matters?

• $250 provides 125 toolkits to healthcare providers and their patients to allow them to better organize their care and management of diabetes.

• $500 provides 20 hours of call centre services for people with diabetes and healthcare professionals who may have questions related to diabetes management or the Association’s many support programs and services.

• $1000 funds a diabetes research lab for a day, bringing us closer towards finding a cure.
