Wesleyan (Georgia) scored 115 points in a women’s basketball over-time contest against Oglethorpe December 11, 2001, but still lost, 125-115. It marked the most points scored by a Division III women’s basket-ball team in a losing effort. Moravian held the previous record in a 124-110 loss to Susquehanna in 1995. Wesleyan’s showing did not top eitherthe Division I or Division II marks, however. TCU women’s team lost toSouthern Methodist, 127-125, in 1997 to set the Division I record, whileNorthern Kentucky set the all-divisions record in a 131-130 loss to SaintJoseph’s (Indiana) in 1988.
