A Note From Our Pastor
My Dear Parishioners,
This week we continue the Easter celebration
and recall in a special way the work our Lord accomplished
through his Passion, death and Resurrection. Saint John
Paul II instituted this weekend as Divine Mercy Sunday.
Saint John Paul II once explained, “In this way, in Christ
and through Christ, God also becomes especially visible in
His mercy; that is to say, there is emphasized that attribute
of the divinity which the Old Testament, using various con-
cepts and terms, already defined as "mercy." Christ confers
on the whole of the Old Testament tradition about God's
mercy a definitive meaning. Not only does He speak of it
and explain it by the use of comparisons and parables, but
above all He Himself makes it incarnate and personifies it.
He Himself, in a certain sense, is mercy. To the person who
sees it in Him - and finds it in Him - God becomes "visible"
in a particular way as the Father who is rich in mercy."
We call upon the never-ending mercy of our Lord Jesus
Christ. We will have a special prayer service on Sunday at
3:00pm in the Church praying the Divine Mercy chaplet live
streamed. Let us continue our Easter celebration by honor-
ing this great feast of the love of our Lord through calling on
the great mercy He offers us! Let us take advantage of this
great to pray as a family.
Christ’ mercy comes to us through His wounds. This is
the power of God's mercy: it can fill our hearts
with supernatural strength and peace even while we are
hanging on the cross with Christ. As Saint Faustina Kowal-
ska once said, "We resemble God most when we forgive our
neighbors."
Happy Easter,
Fr. Mike

“I desire that the Feast of Mercy be a refuge and shelter for all souls and especially for poor sinners. On that day the very depths of My tender mercy are open. I pour out a whole ocean of graces upon those souls who approach the Fount of My mercy. The souls that will go to Confession and receive Holy Communion shall obtain complete for-
giveness of sins and punishment. … Let no soul fear to draw near to Me. … It is My desire that it be solemnly
celebrated on the first Sunday after Easter. Mankind will not have peace until it turns to the Fount of My Mercy.”

Bishop O’Connell has invited all of the Catholic faithful
to join with him in prayer to our Blessed Mother during this time of pandemic:
O Mary, loving Mother, you always shine on our path as a sign
of salvation and of hope. We entrust ourselves to you, who at
the Cross took part in Jesus’ pain, keeping your faith firm.
You, Salvation of Your People, know what we need, and we are
sure you will provide so that, as in Cana of Galilee, we may re-
turn to joy and to feasting after this time of trial.
Help us, Mother of Divine Love, to conform to the will of the
Father and to do as we are told by Jesus, who has taken upon
himself our sufferings and carried our sorrows to lead us,
through the Cross, to the joy of the Resurrection.
Be present to all those suffering from coronavirus and to those
who care for them: families, friends, neighbors, doctors, nurses,
staff, government officials, pastors, priests and all who seek to
do God’s will. Bring comfort and calm to the elderly, to those at
risk and to all who are afraid. Be for us all a beacon of hope,
lighting our path once more to the heart of your beloved Son,
the Divine Healer and Health of the Sick.
Under your protection, we seek refuge, Holy Mother of God.
Deliver us from every danger, O glorious and blessed Virgin.
Amen.
