Ron and Evelyn Rubel have lived in Salem for the past 33 years. Ron has been a Rotarian since 1979 and has a 32 year perfect aend- ance record. He recently fin- ished serving as his club’s Sec- retary for 4 years, and is currently Pro- gram Adminis- trator of our district’s Rotary Friendship Exchange program. Ron is now “semi-rered.” Earlier, he served as officer with the US Army for 6 years and spent 10 years with The Coca-Cola Co. He has been a licensed mortgage broker, and provider of small business financial services. He is sll a licensed real estate principal broker. He connues to do some limited real estate services work. Evelyn is a rered elementary school teacher. She connues to teach, on an “on-call basis,” as a subs- tute elementary school teacher. She likes to cook, and is wonderful at it. Gardening and work with community service organizaons are a major part of her life. Ron and Evelyn have been married since 1967 and have a son (an architect and US Army Naonal Guard officer) in Boise, ID, a daughter here in Salem, and four grandchildren. Ron enjoys computers, audio and video producon work, woodworking, reading, photography, wine and beer tasng, history, and art acvies. Evelyn loves traveling, reading, puzzles, card games, cooking and gardening Craig Jones and his wife Kathleen were both born and raised in San Francisco bay area. Alan Ludlow. Before joining Columbia Credit Union,

Alan helped start a bank in Oregon where he served as Executive Vice President and Chief Lending Office. Alan brings 31 years of banking experience and 9 years of private industry experience

including several years as a Chief Financial Officer for a manufacturing company. He has a Bachelors of Arts and a Master in Business Administration from the University of Utah. He is a graduate of Pacific Coast Banking School at the Uni-versity of Washington in Seattle and the Graduate School of Credit and Finan-cial Management at Dart-

mouth College in Connecticut. Alan joined the Downtown Portland Rotary Club in 1989 just prior to the Rotary International Convention held in Portland where he saw the international scope of Rotary. Later in his Rotary career, Alan helped found and became the Charter President of the Rota-ry Club of West Linn Oregon. While a member of the West Linn Club, he helped create the West Linn Rotary Foundation and became its first President. After coming to work for Columbia Credit Union in 2009, Alan joined the Downtown Vancouver Rota-ry Club where he is active in international affairs. Alan and Betty are the parents of 7 daughters, 1 son and 6 grand-children. Alan and his family enjoy golf, tennis, hiking, camping, travel, history, Rotary and family activities.

Donna Wiench, a member of the Vancouver

(WA) Rotary, is De-velopment Director for Daybreak Youth Services, a provider of substance abuse treatment for teens. Donna enjoys attending theatre and dance perfor-mances and staying active through hik-

ing, bicycling, yoga, rowing and snowboarding with her hus-band, Michael, and their children, Benjamin, 19 and Kathleen, 17. Ben is studying cognitive science at Vassar College in New York and Kathleen is a high school senior. Michael works as an internet marketing manager. Prior to changing careers to the nonprofit world 11 years ago, Donna was a radio and television journalist specializing in environment and education stories. She worked as a documentary maker for China Central Televi-sion in Beijing for a year and a half. This is Donna’s first trip to Israel and she’s grateful to Rotary for the opportunity.

Bill and Richela Grantz have been ma-

rried 17 years and live in Vancouver Washington which is loca-ted in the northern part of Rotary District 5100. Richela has been a Rotarian since 1994. She is currently presi-dent of her club, Vancouver Sunrise. She has served as the chairman of the Ambassadorial Scholarship committee for the district, led a GSE team to District 4240 in Central America. She is a MPHF, and received the Citation for Meritorious Ser-vice in 2007. Richela was born and raised in Los Angeles and moved to the

“pacific northwest” in 1987. She is a retired Delta Air-lines flight attendant. During her 40 year career she spent 13 years in middle manage-

ment at Delta and for 8 years owned and operated a print shop. Since her retirement, Richela spends her time improving her Spanish speaking skills, volunteering in an elementary school Spanish immersion classroom, and continues her in-volvement with Rotary. Bill, a Paul Harris Fellow, and actively supports Richela's in-volvement in Rotary, was born and raised in Chicago. After leaving the U.S. Airforce, where he was stationed in the Philip-pines, he obtained an MBA from Arizona State University. He has subsequent careers in the airline industry in customer service, working for Northwest Airlines (now Delta) and Ameri-ca West Airlines (now US Airways). Bill is currently working in the Parks and Recreation depart-ment for the City of Vancouver as an operations supervisor. He really enjoys being involved with the 3 community centers operated by the city. Bill and Richela enjoy playing golf, biking, kayaking and experi-encing other cultures. They especially enjoy the music and crafts native to the cultures of the countries in which they have traveled.

Patty Frahler is originally from the San Francisco

Bay Area where she lived for 29 years and graduated from college. She has lived in Portland, Oregon since 1975. She spent her career in various governmental tax work and ac-cepted the job of Property Tax Collection Administrator for Multnomah County, the largest of the 36 counties in the State of Oregon. She retired in 2007 and now spends her time assisting various community volunteer organizations as well

as her church. Patty has been actively affiliated with Rotary since 1975 and became a Rotarian with the Beaverton Metro Rotary club in 1993 where she served as Club President in 1999-2000. In 2008 the District Governor appointed her the District Communi-cations Officer which involves

administering the District Data Base for all Rotarians in Dis-trict 5100 and setting up online registrations for Rotary Dis-trict events. Patty enjoys working with and meeting new people. Traveling provides a good source of satisfaction in accomplishing this so she enjoys travel to other countries and within the United States. Hobbies include physical exercise such as walking, running, hiking, snow skiing and trying (and sometimes ac-complishing) various home improvement projects.

Karl and Iris Raschkes have been mar-

ried for 45 Years. Iris is a native of Lima, Peru and Karl is a native of Vien-na Austria. They met and lived in the Los Angeles Area before mov-ing to Salem, Ore-gon. Iris was a senior accountant for the Oregon

State Treasury. Karl was the head of the Salem-Keizer k-12 music program for the last 28 years and a member of the Sa-lem-Downtown Rotary Club since 1984. Both are now retired. They have two grown sons– Ted and Josef plus six grandkids - including a set of twins. Josef is a professional engineer and works for the Xerox Corporation. Ted is the Trauma Coordina-tor for the Salem Hospital. All live in the Salem-Keizer Area.
