What is DAS? The Distr ibuted Antenna System (DAS) is a network of spat ia l ly separated antenna nodes connected to a common source v ia transport medium that provides wireless service within a geographic area or structure.

A Distr ibuted Antenna System can be designed for use indoors or outdoors and can be used to provide wireless coverage to hotels , subways, a i rports , hospitals , businesses, roadway tunnels etc. The wireless services typical ly provided by a DAS include PCS, cel lular, Wi-Fi , pol ice, f i re, and emergency services.

For an indoor DAS network, remote antennas are strategical ly placed throughout a bui lding and are connected with f iber optic cable to a s ingle hub containing al l of the wireless service provider’s equipment.

An outdoor DAS network consists of a central hub locat ion which l inks a system of strategical ly placed antenna locat ions to provide carr iers with pinpoint coverage not provided by tradit ional coverage methods.
