Dissertation Guidelines as per University FDPA. Evaluation System: 2 Credit: (50 Marks): The evaluation should be done as following:1. 50 Marks to be given by the internal Guide2. 50 Marks to be given during Viva (conducted by internal or external guide appointed by institute)3. The final marks given should be the average of the above (out of 50 marks).

B. Submission: The students should submit the following:1. Research Proposal is Mandatory: The students should decide the dissertation topic in consultation with their respective guides. Once the topic is decided, the research proposal for the same should be submitted to their respective guides at the start of the semester. This research proposal should be approved by the guide only after which the students can start working on the topic.

2. After the completion of dissertation, the student should submit 1 CD and 2 spiral-bound copies of their report to the institute. These CDs should be further submitted to the University by the Institute. From the 2 spiral bound copies, one copy will be retained by the Institute and the other copy will be returned back to the student for his/her reference.

3. Dissertation completion certificate/Guides certificate will be issued by the Institute which needs to be attached to the dissertation report.

C. Rough Guidelines for the topics to be selected for Dissertation:1. The topic to be selected for dissertations can be in the form of Case studies, or Actual visits to the company (in this case company certificate is necessary) or on secondary data (this is preferred).2. For those student who are already placed and have joined: These students can prepare a dissertation report on the topic related to their allied area of working profile.3. For those students who are placed but not joined: These students can select a topic related to the industry in which they are placed.4. For those students who are aspiring to get placed in a particular industry: These students can select a topic related to that particular industry in which they aspire to get placed.5. All other students: The guide/institute can allocate the topics to them

D. Other guidelines for formatting:1. The students are supposed to work for minimum 60 hours for dissertation2. It should be approximately 25 pages (any changes in pages can be made at discretion of guide). However quality of project is important.3. Cross functional topics are allowed but are at discretion of guides approval4. A standard font size can be decided as Times New Roman, 12 with 1.5 line spacing

E. The report can be loosely based on the following chapterization scheme (this can be somewhat modified by the guide if needed): 1. Introduction: Details mentioned should be in regards with the topic only. Basic terms related to dissertation topics, core concepts, scope and limitations should be included here.2. Review of Literature: Should be Topic Specific. 3. A. Objective of the study: Related to the topic. Should be between 4-6 and not exceed 6B. Hypothesis: If needed but not mandatory4. Research Methodology: Theory not needed however the details given below needs to be mentioned:A. Sources of primary and secondary data, Sample size (if applicable), and any other points such as sample unit, population, etc. (if needed)B. Data Analysis and presentation: Simple statistical tools such as mean, mode, media (if needed), frequency and percentage. Data Presentation can be done with the means of simple bar diagrams, pie charts etc. No higher statistical tests needed.5. Findings, Suggestions and Recommendations: Should be based on primary and secondary data only.6. Bibliography and appendices (references): Should be decided by the institute and same for all students; for convenience sake APA Sixth Edition can be used.
