1. INTRODUCTION The purpose of this document is to present the dissemination strategy of the BERC project for
the period of October 2015- October 2018 including activities, tools events and calendar. This
plan aims at achieving the highest possible impact of the project activities and best contribute
to support and strengthen Business and economic research at PS partners, BERC will focus on
maximizing the effectiveness and scope of its dissemination and communication activities.
These specific activities will not only address the general public to raise awareness and
maximizing the project visibility and public awareness of its nature, objectives and outcomes,
but also target key stakeholders relevant to the field of the project.
2. PROJECT OVERVIEW BERC project consortium will address the challenge of the weakness of Palestinian HEIs
contribution to the international scientific research production. BERC stands for "Develop
Business and Economic Research Centers Capacity at Palestinian Higher Education
Institutions". This project aims at boosting the quality of business and economic research
environment through the partnership with national and European counterparts. Main
objectives include:
1. To develop and reinforce quality standards for business and economic research
centers of Palestinian Higher Institutions.
2. To capacity building of research unit's staff for business and economic research
centers of Palestinian Higher Institutions (Including standards, methodology,
examination and supervision,, etc.).
3. To develop national and international partnerships for networking activities among
the Business & Economic research centers.
4. To promote alignment and optimization of undergraduate and postgraduate
programs with respect to the strategic research clusters, including expand research
opportunities and resources that attract and support a robust number of
postgraduate fellows.
5. To tackle societal challenges and developing innovative solutions through engage in
long term collaborative research projects and partnerships.
3. DISSEMINATION STRATEGY The strategy will cover both internal and external communication and dissemination, each of
which is discussed in turn below. In general the dissemination and exploitation strategy of the
BERC project aims at ensuring maximum impact of the project on the PS partners and
spreading of the project outputs beyond the consortium members. This goal will be achieved
through achieving the following objectives:

1. Identify and engage stakeholders throughout the course of the project in order to
ensure that the results of the project are applicable and appropriate to stakeholders.
2. Establish and maintain the project’s website.
3. Establish and maintain the business and economic research centers webpages at the
universities website
4. Produce press releases in Arabic and English languages and selected other materials
for dissemination to the media and other stakeholders
5. Prepare scientific journal articles and conference presentations.
4. TARGET GROUPS In BERC project, two main target groups are directed in the dissemination strategy, there are
institutional level target groups and national level target groups. These target groups include
the project stakeholders and beneficiaries.
Institutional level target groups:
1. Deans of different Colleges
2. Academics and researchers at faculty of commerce
3. Postgraduate studies students
4. Policy makers and specially Vice president for Scientific and postgraduate studies
affairs.
National level target groups
1. Higher education institutions in Palestine (west bank and Gaza strip)
2. Ministry of Higher education
3. Research institutes
4. National scientific research council

1. BERC logo
The project logo determines the project visual identity and enables others to
recognize the project, therefore specific logo was designed for the project to
be included in all project publications and document

2. Project Website The project website http://berc.iugaza.edu.ps/ is the main dissemination tool of the
project outputs, activities, objectives and goal. It is the main element to sustain the
project outcomes after the end of the project duration.
The Structure of the BERC website consists of ten main categories:
a) HOME: contains the photos, general info about the project, news, events
b) ABOUT PROJECT (Description. Objectives, Outputs/Outcomes, Management of
the project)
c) Consortium of the project: which includes the name, logo and contact address of
each partner university in the project.
d) WORKPACKAGES: summary of the main work packages in the project in the
project is indicated.

Project flyer is designed with idea to present briefly main information about BERC project to

7. Newsletters: the project produce 6 newsletters of the project one every 6 months.
The newsletter will outline the project implemented activities and outputs achieved.

9. Facebook page: a facebook page will be created to promote the project activities via
disseminating its various activities.

6. DISSEMINATION EVENTS
1. Workshops
Dissemination workshops will be organized at different universities to raise awareness among
the project stakeholders whom were identified according to the stakeholders’ analysis. Two
levels of workshops will be conducted:
1. Institutional level
2. National level
At the institutional level, each university will conduct 2 stakeholders workshops, in total there
will be 10 workshops in the project; the 1st workshop will be conducted to present the needs
assessment and benchmarking results to the stakeholders and possible intervention plan,
whereas the 2nd workshops will be conducted to present the project achieved results.
At the national level, two workshops will be conducted, one at Gaza strip and one at west
bank.
2. Scientific Information days and public appearances
Scientific information days will be organized to inform research and academic community,
business sector, policy-makers and main stakeholders, about the project and its realized
outcomes.
At least 5 information days and other raising awareness events will be organized, during the
whole implementation period.
During these info days, stakeholders, academic community and policy makers will present
their efforts and their experiences.
3. Trainings
The training events during the project lifetime will be used for the project dissemination
among the partner universities staff. In addition, due to the project is implemented in high
political un-stable situation, therefore most likely that part of the international training will
be delivered on line, this will expand the targeted trainers and will expand the dissemination
of the project benefits.
4. BERC centers opening ceremonies
Each partner university will establish a business and economic research unit (BERC), an
opening ceremony will be organized at each partner university and EU partners will be invited
for monitoring purposes.

5. BERC centers websites
Each established business and economic research unit (BERC), will design and launch a
webpage for the center, highlighting important activities and news.
6. International Conference
An international conference will be held at IUG (project coordinator) with participation of the
consortium members.
