THE SITHThe Sith is an organization in the Star Wars

universe whose members dedicate themselves to the Dark Side of the Force.

Their individuals, known as Sith Lords or Dark Lords of the Sith, traditionally use the title Darth

before their Sith name. The Sith are the archenemies of the Jedi, and like

them, their main weapon is the lightsaber. They only exist two at a time: a master and an

apprentice.

DARTH BANE

In a time where Sith Lords existed in legions, Darth Bane renewed the Sith order and established the Rule of Two. This rule stated that there must be

only two Sith Lords at a time: a master to embody power, and an apprentice to crave it and eventually overthrow his master and adopt an

apprentice of his own.

AHSOKA TANO

Created by Craig Dickinson. Shared with permission on StarWarsintheClassroom.com

AHSOKA TANO

Shaak Ti

Abandoned by her parents, she was discovered by Master Plo Koon and was raised in the Jedi

Temple. She graduated to Padawan at age 14 (two years earlier than most Padawans), due to the

ongoing Clone Wars and as an effort by Master Yoda to teach Anakin Skywalker a greater sense of

responsibility. By giving Skywalker his own Padawan, it would place him into a paternal role

where he would be forced to become more cautious and responsible.

Ahsoka was developed as a way to show how Anakin Skywalker develops from the brash, undisciplined Padawan in Star Wars

Episode II: Attack of the Clones to the more

reserved Jedi Knight in Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. It would also

give Skywalker new insight into his relationship with his own mentor, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and explain how

their relationship matured.

When The Clone Wars series began, Ahsoka

was a 14 year old Togruta (the same

species as Shaak Ti), and she was 16 when

the show ended.

The Jedi Council hoped that as Ahsoka became more independent, her Master would learn to let go of

his problematic sense of attachment
