Conversation Analysis

Discourse analysis (DA), or discourse studies, is a general

Term for a number of approaches to analyzing written,

vocal, or sign language use or any

significant semiotic event.

Data Categorization

The data taken for analysis is naturally occurring

dialogue on phone.

It is between two strangers who happen to become

known due to a wrong call.

Ameer calls his friend Majid and did not recognize the

voice. In fact the Majid whom Ameer calls is not the one

who is Ameer’s friend.

This wrong call happen to become known as Majid

introduces himself to Ameer and he agrees to become

his customer as Majid ahmed is a sales manager of Jazz

and Ameer agrees to buy connection from him.

The phone conversation lasts for 1min 14 sec.
