Transcript of Disclaimer Cycling is patently unsafe. I don’t recommend it.
The Idea:
Creating the routes• Two routes from Atlanta to Savannah
• Start at Sherman’s Battle of Atlanta Headquarters & finish at Forsyth Park in Savannah
• Use existing assets
• Safety first and above all else.
• Keep it as small-bore as possible. Serve the communities and cyclists along the routes. Create an economic development tool on a first name basis.
• Inform in a broader context & also cover the nuts ‘n bolts. Use Kindle, paperback, website, & Facebook.
The Two Routes
• Include US Hwys, State Hwy’s, County Roads, dirt & paved, 2 lane & 4 lane, multi-use paths.
• The Right Wing route is 330 miles and the Left Wing Route is 320 miles. Each route follows somewhat the routes of Sherman’s two armies marching to Savannah.
• Each route is divided into 6 day of riding.
• Depart Atlanta on Sunday morning, Arrive Savannah Friday afternoon.
Along the Way
• 0 Big Boxes, 1 McDonald’s, a few small strip malls
• 4 Cities, 11 Courthouses, 39 Small Towns,
