NAMI FAMILY SUPPORT GROUP - Please join Linda and Martin Reid for a National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Family Support Group to be held on the first Monday of every month (beginning Feb. 6) at 7 p.m. Family Support Group is open to any person with a loved one living with mental illness, regardless of diagnosis, and is completely confidential . Participants should feel welcome to drop by and share feelings, difficulties, or successes. Everyone is a valued participant. More info at www.namivirginia.org. MENS BREAKFAST will be Saturday, Feb. 11th at 8 a.m. We'll get started with a signature breakfast prepared by Tom James. Our speaker will be Dr. James Worsley, Director of Parks and Recreation. Dr. Worsley will tell us about the purchase and plans for the sportsplex on Genito Road and other topics. Join us for great food, an interesting talk, and Christian fellowship. GUATEMALA 2017 - our mission trip is planned for July 15-22 - once again we will be building 15 stoves in The Highlands - the trip costs approximately $900 for each person - and we are looking for one more person. HELP THE PANTRY BY HELPING THE GARDEN - The FEED23112 Pantry now has a Community Garden that needs your help. The garden is ready for planting beginning the end of February. We are looking for folks to "adopt" a planting box and help it produce a harvest for the Pantry. For more info come to the table in Fellowship Hall or call Nan Johnson 305-2631. BRUNSWICK STEW - Kill the Chill of Winter with a steaming bowl of Brunswick Stew. Pre-Orders are being taken now through Feb.12 in the Fellowship Hall for $7.50/qt when you pre-order. Stew will be ready for pick-up after the 10:30 service on Feb. 19. Some additional quarts will be available on Feb.19 for $8.00/qt. Don't forget about friends and family. Proceeds will benefit our partners in Haiti. Call Nan Johnson with questions. 305-2631. CHILDRENS CONSIGNMENT SALE is almost here (Feb. 25th!) and we have a few more slots open for new consignors. The sale is a great way to clean out your children's closets of outgrown clothes and toys and find new bargains. WOMENS RETREAT BLESSING BAGS - The women of the church will be making "Blessing Bags" to give to the homeless during the Women's Retreat, March 24-25. We are counting on donations from TBC disciples to fill the bags. Please place your donations in the box in the Fellowship Hall from Sunday, February 5 through March 19. Here's a list of the items we need: small water bottles, tuna/cracker packets, peanut butter crackers, granola bars, trailmix, apple sauce cups w/ spoon, hard candy, small notebooks and pens, small baggie w/ quarters, chapstick, bandaids, deodorant, tissue packets, baby wipes packets, toothbrushes, travel size toothpaste, combs, socks. SABBATH MOMENTS - Meeting at 9 a.m. on Feb. 21st at The Egg and I Restaurant, our guest speaker is Dr. Robert Maxwell from Genesis Rehab Services, who will speak on Exploring the Alzheimers Journey. Sunday School classes meet at 9:30 a.m.

Adults meet in the multipurpose room and classroom. Youth meet in the youth room and conference room. Children meet on the lower level.

Childcare for infants and children through age 4

is available in the Nursery located in the entryway.

During worship services, children are welcome and at anytime are invited to sit at the PrayerGround table in the back of the Sanctuary. Activities sharing the message

of the day are provided to engage children during worship.

Rocking chairs are available for parents who would like to rock their infants.

Please join us in the Fellowship Hall today from 9:30 -10:30 a.m. for Coffee Fellowship.

LENTEN STUDY - America’s Original Sin: Racism in 2017 - Join a class that explores and confronts racism in America and explores what we can do to diminish the bigotry. Special guest Timothy Bates, pastor of two Presbyterian churches and a civil rights activist in Statesville, NC, will begin the class by preaching on Sunday, February 26. The class, using America's Original Sin: Racism, White Privilege, and the Bridge to a New America by Jim Wallis, continues on Wednesday, Mar. 8 at 7 p.m. and plans to meet through Apr.12. THE FUSE GROUP is about to begin. Calling all 20’s and 30’s (give or take a few years) for a gathering on Sunday, February 12 at 5:00 p.m. A FUSE is something that makes things happen and so we want to gather as a group and begin to plan. Open to all, even if you are not part of this church! Come make new friends and experience the friendliness of this church. You can become involved in making a difference!
