Who can apply?Anyone who is a RFHA tenant and whose disabilities or specifi c needs prevent them from leading an independent lifestyle.

How do I apply? If you feel you need an adaptation to your home to improve your quality of life please contact our Customer Services Team. We work with your Local Authority to provide this service to you.

Arrangements will be made for an assessment of your home and your needs. Once we assess your needs we will get prices for the work to be carried out and consider funding options.

We are committed to developing an organisational culture that values the contributions of each individual. We provide housing and housing services to refl ect the diversity of the community we serve.

Guide to disabled adaptations We are committed to helping you remain in your own home for as long as you want to. We may be able to make changes to your home that could help you to live more comfortably and maintain your independence.

What is an adaptation? An adaptation is a change to your home which allows you to live more independently, or a change that will allow you greater safety and mobility.

An adaptation could be a level-access shower in your bathroom, or a change which enables you to have access when entering and leaving your home such as a ramp to your external door, or a hand rail.

Sometimes it is not possible to carry out adaptations to your home because of structural problems, or because the adaptation may not be viable. In these cases we will work with you to explore other ways of meeting your needs, for example by helping you move to a more suitable home.

Types of adaptations include:

• Ramped or level access to properties

• Handrails and grab rails
