Disict Governor Franks Weekly Leer for Club Presidents Sepmber 9, 2012 Disict Governor Visits We started this past week of visits on Tuesday with a evening desert social at the home of Sharon Girod. We had a great time with the RC’s of China Lake and Indian Wells Valley. Wednesday started out with the RC of China Lake (Patty Wharton). We learned about their many community events. It was great to hear how this patriotic community comes to life with their parade of 1,000 flags! Wednesday evening found us at Maxwell’s restaurant with the Downtown Bakersfield Club. We had a fun time with the Board and ALL of their spouses! Thursday afternoon we spent time with the largest club in our District, the RC of Bakersfield Downtown (Paul Sheldon). This is a very generous and friendly group of Rotarians. I am impressed as to how they identify community needs and support those findings. We got down the road southbound for a Thursday evening dinner meeting with the RC of Frazier Park/Mountain Communities (Mitch Wood). This is a small group of good, friendly, dedicated Rotarians. They seem to be doing well, and support youth in a big way in their community.
