JOB TITLE: Director, Safety Program Management DEADLINE: November 27, 2015 SALARY RANGE: Min.: $102,178 Mid.: $127,723 HAY POINTS: 924 DEPT/DIV: Safety Management Office SUPERVISOR: Senior Advisor for Corporate Safety Initiatives LOCATION: 2 Broadway HOURS OF WORK: 9:00 am 5:30 pm (7 1/2 hours/day)Summary

Direct a professional staff that will be monitoring and establishing new safety programs and theirimplementation across all agencies. Lead transformational initiatives that will establish theframework for safety management across the MTA. This position will be responsible for theimplementation of an SMS (Safety Management System) throughout the MTA, as well as otherinnovative programs to achieve overall safety management and monitor their progress through thereview of audits and analytical reports.Responsibilities

o Develop and implement new contracts to support the newly created Safety Management Office andprogram implementation MTAwide o Create strategies for new initiative implementation across all agencies. o Coordinate with Agency Safety and Operating Departments on strategies for implementation ofnew initiatives/programs. o Responsible for implementing a cohesive safety management system throughout the MTA. o Communicate with various MTA Departments and agencies on matters relating to project/programstatus and reporting. o Establish project milestones and ensure compliance with deadlines.Qualifications

o Must possess expertise in leading edge Safety Management Systems. o Must be familiar with regulatory process, developing and implementing changes to the process. o Must possess the ability to build strong partnerships, engage, influence and drive change. o Strong project management skills (the ability to document and communicate project plans, monitorwork in progress, achieve project milestones/end results, for others to understand). o Strong business process design skills and experience. o Excellent oral and written communication skills. o Knowledge of project management software (project solve or other similar program). o Excellent quantitative and analytical skills.Education and Experience

o Must possess a Bachelor's Degree in business, planning, project administration, or other relatedfield or equivalent work experience. o 10 years of experience in project/program management or managing a team of project/programmanagement personnel.

o Certification in project management is a plus. o Increasing responsibility in managing a complex organization or programs.Other Information
