Hurricane satellite image analysis using 2x2 and 3x3 wavelet transforms

It all starts with Lena and Haar We began the course with the Haar Transform and the picture of Lena.

Haar Transform Histograms We look at the histogram of the resulting images and we adjust the

images in order to compress the range of brightness and exaggerate the details.

Using thresholds We then looked at the Haar transform when using a

threshold. If the coefficient exceeds the threshold, we mark the pixel in pure white.

Absolute value Haar transform (no offset) We look at Haar transforms using the absolute value.

We then proceed to exaggerate the results by multiplying the coefficients by a scalar value.
