Dear Parent,
Greetings from DPS-Miyapur!
Teaching is more than imparting knowledge; it is inspiring change. Learning is more than
absorbing facts; it is acquiring understanding.

The festive month of October is all about the joyful festivities, the celebratory mood of the students
who look forward to seep in the colourful and happy festive spirit after the serious affair of the first
term exam and the flaming poplars lighting the way to winter. The month began on a serious note
with the students of grade 5 to 8 appearing for their first term examinations. On the other hand, the
little kids of primary and pre-primary were gearing up to celebrate the grand festival Dusshehra.
It is said, that children are the reflection of God. This saying almost becomes real and tangible when
we see our lovely children in the attires of Gods and Goddesses. On 3rd October, 2018, a special
assembly was conducted by the students of Grade II, to mark the festival - Dussehra with great
enthusiasm and energy. The wonderful assembly commenced with an amazing concoction of song
of Lord Rama and the sthotram ‘AigiriNandini’, in which the various forms of Durga were
showcased. Children were dressed as Ram, Laxman and Sita. The theme of the assembly was to
showcase the victory of good over evil and the talented children also showcased the various forms
of Dusshehra celebrated all over the country through their breathtaking performance. The children,
all resplendent in their traditional attire, performing with poise, perfection and expression received a
huge applause from the audience. The incredible assembly was concluded with the enactment of the
nine incarnations of mother Durga creating an exact replica of the celebration.

school premises on 25th October, 2018 by the students of Grade III. The assembly commenced with
a recitation and sloka sung by the children, followed by a skit on the significance of Bathukamma
festival. The students spoke on the significance of the festival both in Telugu and Hindi language. A
mesmerising dance performance was presented by the children who came dressed in colourful
lehangas. This is the only festival which is celebrated solely by women. The performances of the
