JOHN STOKES SQUARE REDEVELOPMENT Demolition Commencement Dear Stakeholder, The Northern Territory Government is redeveloping John Stokes Square in Nightcliff to improve the quality of housing, allow for improved amenities and open spaces, and reduce anti-social behaviour in the area. The $45 million dollar redevelopment will include: A new 24-hour police station; Public housing that will be prioritised for seniors and people living with disabilities; and Public space to link pedestrians between the Nightcliff Shops and the Woolworths complex. Demolition of the existing buildings will commence on Tuesday 11 June 2019 between the hours of 8am and 5pm, Monday to Saturday for 10 weeks. Dust, traffic and noise control measures will be implemented and monitored throughout demolition.
