EvaporatorEvaporator

• An Evaporator System was required to remove the organic solids from the waste stream generated by Porcine Heparin batch production process. The objective is to vaporize the water and separating from the concentrated solids (~ 45% solids) stream that will be sent for landfill. The evaporated water must be condensed and will be sent for further downstream on-site waste treatment prior to discharge to the Sabesb sewer.

• Each digestion sub batch consists of 36,000 kgs of Mucosa. The site currently produces six batches per week with batches completing digestion from Monday night through to Thursday. The maximum number of batches per week is currently six, but may be increased to 8 batches per week when about 20 % of ribbons are added to the mucosa. Processing of ribbons in Mucosa will increase the peptone volume by 25%.

• If required, then vendor to include a CIP skid with holding tank.• The Evaporator and associated equipment shall be in continuous operation 365 days

per year except when cleaning and maintenance is required.• The Supplier should therefore consider the following supply as a minimum:• Complete engineering design; lay out of the system, specifications and process

responsibility for the complete evaporator system package. Civil and structural design with will be done by a third part. Vendor should include design review man hours.

• Supply of the major equipment and critical items.• Control system and software.• Any proprietary or custom equipment as part of the evaporator package.
