Safe EnvironmentAll documents related to Charter implementation were placed into a single Safe Environment Handbook and re-promulgated by Bishop Caggiano on 11/30/2014. First Diocese in the country to use the new online training module with updated videos to include internet and technology safety - 6,037 people completed the online VIRTUS re-certificationA total of 12,137 background checks were completed across the DioceseThe VIRTUS database went from a cumulative reporting source of 60,000+ Safe Environment training records down to approx. 30,000 reflecting only active personnel

600 families affected by Superstorm Sandy continue to be assisted through Disaster Case Management Program
Thriving Works of CharityNew Covenant Center in Stamford expanded from 2000 sq ft to
8000 sq ft adding a grocery shopping experience, medical services, life coaching, showers, haircut services, and immigration services to a new and updated food preparation facility
Catholic Charities Bridgeport has initiated a behavioral health collaboration with St. Vincent’s Medical Center combining the hospital’s intensive outpatient mental health operation with Catholic Charities behavioral health clinic which expands and enhances these services and their availability for many in need

104,000 copies of Fairfield County Catholic are mailed directly into homes throughout the Diocese of Bridgeport on a monthly basisIntroduction of true Diocesan app with unique “hub” to allow parishes to upload information directlyPartnered with ORTV-WJMJ Radio to return televised daily Mass to Cablevision in Fairfield County and to produce the Synod Celebration Mass for broadcast throughout State of Connecticut and live-stream webcast

Building a Bridge to the Future
Synod 5 Global Challenges Liturgy and Worship: Every Catholic is called to full, conscious, and active participation in the worship life of the Church.
Family Life: There is a need to strengthen and support family life, and to empower and assist parents as the primary teachers of the Catholic Faith.
Evangelization: We must create concrete plans for evangelization through our parishes, schools, ecclesial movements, and communities.
Leadership: There is a need to continually call, form, and support clergy, religious, and laity in active leadership roles in the life of the Church. Catechesis and Education: We must renew the ministry of faith formation throughout our diocese, leading each person to a deepening relationship with the Lord Jesus in and through His Church.
