Apaches

• The apaches are a group of people from Arizona, México, Nuevo México and Texas.

• They talked Athabasca languages.

• They were fishermen, hunters and farmers.

• They lived in small groups.

• The apaches tribe was powerful and warrior.

• In the twentieth century 17000 apaches lived free.

• Their boss more known was Geronimo.

• The religion was organized for Shamans.

• They were great explorers.

Arapahos

• Their name derive from Pawnee.

• The Arapaho language is from the Algonquian group.

• They lived along the Red River of the North.

• In 1851 the Arapahos signed the Treaty of strong Laramie, to live in peace with various tribes.

• In 1850 the group of Arapahos was divided in two: The Arapaho of North and South.

Sioux

• The Sioux are a tribe of Native Indians Americans who used to live in the Middle Western before the creation of the United States, but now, they only live in some reserves. They are divided in three ethnics groups:

The Santee, in the east of Dakotas The Yankton, in the west of DakotasThe Lakota, in the middle of Dakotas

• Their society is composed by smaller clans with a tribe chief.

• Some of they were named “Pipe holders” and they smoked the Peace Pipe in the peace ceremonies.

Cherokee

• The Cherokee are a Native American tribe of the Iroquoian group of languages, and is considerate one of the Five Civilized Tribes of North America. They used to live in the South Eastern of the United States, principally in Georgia, Carolinas and Tennessee and they called themselves Tsalagi. They have three nations federally recognized:

• The Cherokee nation, in Oklahoma.

• The United Keetoowah Band of Cherokee Indians, in Oklahoma too.

• The Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, in North Carolina.

• The two first were forced to move there in the thirties of the nineteenth century.
