When compared to traditional circuit breakers, the DIN-T range of devices under short circuit conditions have very quick operational times, typically 2mS, resulting in very low energy let-through values, minimising damage to downstream cables and devices and as a result increasing their operational life.

One of the advantages of the DIN-T MCB is the fact that it contains two separate methods of tripping the MCB, which involves a bi-metal strip for over load currents and a magnetic coil for short circuit currents. DIN-T MCBs have a special arc runner which takes the bi-metal strip out of the current path during short circuits, therefore preventing it from damage as well as retaining the original overload tripping characteristics.

The DIN-T MCB offers three different tripping curves - ‘B’, ‘C’ and ‘D’ - which means the correct MCB can be selected to suit the application as cable impedance / fault loop impendence must be considered.

LOCKDINTM is a unique captive locking device designed to fit the DIN-T range of MCBs and RCBOs. LOCKDINTM fits within the width of the device so no additional space is required in the switchboard.

DEVELOPMENTNHP is continually developing the DIN-T range to meet the ever changing needs of the market. New product releases that include the easy-fit Compact RCBO and 2-in-1 MCB offer substantial savings in both space and installation time and are DC devices for Green energy (solar) applications.
