Takes Top Spot in the First Fall Division II Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup Standings CLEVELAND – After the completion of six NCAA Championships, Grand Valley State (Mich.) currently sits atop the Division II Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup fall standings. The Lakers took home national championships in women’s cross country and women’s soccer and also placed third in men’s cross country and fifth in women’s volleyball for a total of 358 points. Shippensburg (Pa.) is in second, with a total of 264 points. The Raiders finished second in women’s field hockey, fourth in women’s cross country, seventh in men’s cross country a nd 17 th in men’s soccer. Tampa (Fla.) is in third with 224 total points, after finishing second in women’s volleyball, ninth in women’s soccer, 15 th in women’s cross country and 17 th in men’s soccer. In fourth place are the Wildcats of Chico State after turning in fifth place finishes in both men’s and women’s cross country and men’s soccer for a total of 220 points. Rounding out the top-five with a total of 190 points is Rollins (Fla.). The Tars finished second in men’s soccer and 17 th in both women’s soccer and women’s volleyball. Six of the seven fall NCAA championships have been completed with the following institutions capturing titles: women’s soccer – Grand Valley State (Mich.); men’s soccer – Northern Kentucky; women’s volleyball – Concordia (Minn.); women’s field hockey – Massachusetts Lowell; men’s cross country – Adams State (Colo.); women’s cross country – Grand Valley State (Mich.). The Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today . Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in up to 14 sports -- seven women’s and seven men’s. The final Division II fall standings will be released Thursday, December 23. Grand Valley State (Mich.) Takes Top Spot in the First FallDivision II Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup Standings

CLEVELAND – After the completion of six NCAA Championships, Grand Valley State (Miccurrently sits atop the Division II Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup fall standings. The Lakers tohome national championships in women’s cross country and women’s soccer and also placthird in men’s cross country and fifth in women’s volleyball for a total of 358 points.

Shippensburg (Pa.) is in second, with a total of 264 points. The Raiders finished second women’s field hockey, fourth in women’s cross country, seventh in men’s cross country and 17

th

men’s soccer.

Tampa (Fla.) is in third with 224 total points, after finishing second in women’s volleyball, ninthwomen’s soccer, 15

thin women’s cross country and 17

thin men’s soccer.

In fourth place are the Wildcats of Chico State after turning in fifth place finishes in both men’s a

women’s cross country and men’s soccer for a total of 220 points.

Rounding out the top-five with a total of 190 points is Rollins (Fla.). The Tars finished secondmen’s soccer and 17

thin both women’s soccer and women’s volleyball.

Six of the seven fall NCAA championships have been completed with the following institutiocapturing titles: women’s soccer – Grand Valley State (Mich.); men’s soccer – Northern Kentuckwomen’s volleyball – Concordia (Minn.); women’s field hockey – Massachusetts Lowell; mecross country – Adams State (Colo.); women’s cross country – Grand Valley State (Mich.).

The Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup was developed as a joint effort between the NationAssociation of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today . Points are awardbased on each institution's finish in up to 14 sports -- seven women’s and seven men’s.

The final Division II fall standings will be released Thursday, December 23.
