Dear Dads, Mums, Students and Friends The beautiful dry season weather has arrived just in time for the semester break! We give our best wishes to those students and their families who are leaving the school at the end of this term. There will be some staffing changes for next semester. Mrs Stedman will be returning from leave to resume her Assistant Principal role, Mrs Donohue will be returning to Girraween. I would like to thank Mrs Donohue for her hard work and commitment to Durack during the time that she has been with us. Mrs Christine Dinning, our Special Education teacher, is taking long service leave until the end of the year and will be replaced by Kat Gronholt. We are currently advertising for a Year 3 teacher to take Mrs Gronholt’s class for Semester 2. Mrs Natalie Copley is leaving us to take a break from full time employment. Natalie has been a real asset to our administration team. We wish all our departing staff all the best for the future. Reports went home with students on Tuesday. If you have a query or concern about your child’s report please contact the class teacher in the first instance. Parent teacher interviews will be held early in term 3 and this will be an opportunity for parents and teachers to discuss the report and set goals for students for the semester. Details for booking parent teacher conferences will be sent to parents in week 1 of Term 3. The Year 5/6 students who attended the V8 Supercars had a wonderful time and returned with exciting stories to tell. On Friday students from Transition to Year 6 will be going to Darwin Entertainment Centre to see ‘The 52 Storey Treehouse’ performance. There will be a short assembly at 8:30 prior to the students departing. I hope that you are able to have some quality time with your children during the mid-year break and we look forward to seeing students back at school on Tuesday 26 July. Congratulations to Mrs Edie and Mrs Gronholt who received awards at the Autism NT Teacher Appreciation Awards, along with 44 other
deserving educators
Kind regards Sheila Delahay

noodles with chopsticks.
