Manufactured by the company that invented proximity access control technology, the DS2805AD has advanced function and features that are designed to do the following: Reduce the expense and risk of transitioning to digital access control Boost performance and enhance user acceptance an existing system Lay the foundation for a complete conversion to the benefits of NexWatch's most advanced technologies Easy, low-risk transition path The DS2805AD’s unique dual-mode function allows facilities that use Alto 818SC Controllers to easily transition to digital control technology by simply replacing current SE2814/15 Sensors with DS2805AD Sensors. The DS2805AD connects to the existing coax cable for analog communication with the controller. The RS-485 cable is then attached in a daisy chain configuration for digital S-Net communication. All other access control system components and software remain in place, including analog Command Keys. This significantly cuts the cost and risk associated with replacing a working system with unproven components. Since it is manufactured to the same exacting standards that have made SE2814/15 world renowned for durability and performance, the DS2805AD is designed to provide years of dependable service. The DS2805AD also helps make the transition to digital control technology almost seamless to employees and operations. Digital credentials can be phased in as new employees are hired or as analog cards are lost. Since it has the same design and footprint as the SE2814/15 sensor it replaces, DS2805 allows facilities to install the dual-mode sensors without disrupting décor. Operation of the DS2805AD is also similar to that of SE2814/15, with the additional features of audible and visible tri-state LED access status cues. The user simply passes an analog (SE1030 - 1060) or digital credential (QuadraKey, NexKey, KeyMate, 2SmartKey) within the two-inch read range of the sensor. In less than one second, the sensor’s LED flashes and an audible beep sounds to indicate that access has been granted. The sensor’s signal can read a credential through a user’s pocket, wallet or purse. Immediate access to all digital applications While the read range and performance does not match that of NexWatch’s DigiReader Series Digital Proximity Readers, the DS2805AD allows facilities to lay a foundation for integrating these all-digital readers immediately in specific applications, in system expansion areas, and as analog Command Keys are phased out. While the DigiReaders will not be able to read the analog credentials, they will enhance user acceptance and increase traffic flow by providing longer read ranges and shorter credential processing times.
