Digital pen technology was first developed by the Swedish inventor and manufactured by Christer Fåhraues

A computer invention that transmits writing into digital form.

Many professions need to hand-write their notes.

The digital pen is similar to to a regular ink pen that writes on regular paper.

Introduction of Digital pen

Except it has an optical reader that records motion, images and coordinates.

The recorded data is then transmitted to a computer via a wireless transmitter.

This computer invention has been licensed to companies around the world for various commercial products.

Parts of digital pen :

Pen cap: It protects the light detector.

Ordinary ink refill: Leaves a track on the paper.

Pen optics: It holds the most important parts of the pen: the LED and the photocell.

Refill holder: It holds the ink refill in place.

Indicator lights: It is to indicate when the pen needs recharging, when it's full of words, and so on.

Reset button: You can push a tiny rubber button on the base of the pen case to reset it.

Rechargeable battery

Vibrating motor: It's a tiny  electric motor .

Microchip in the pen uses the pattern of reflections to store images of the words you're writing.

Antenna: A tiny Bluetooth antenna transmits your words to your computer.

Wireless receiver in your computer picks up the Bluetooth signals and stores.

Docking connector: Docking cradle, this is a connector charges the battery .

* When one writes or draws on a standard paper form, the pen's camera captures, stores and saves all handwritten information as coordinates. 

* These are uploaded to the host server by a Bluetooth pairing the digital pen to a compatible mobile or a USB docking station connected to a PC. 

* The information collected by the pen is converted into PDF format and integrated into database & workflow system.
