JOB DESCRIPTION The Digital Coordinator position will reside in the Digital component of the Communications Department and under the direct supervision of NCLR’s Senior Manager of Digital. The coordinator will execute the organization’s online and mobile campaigns in collaboration with NCLR’s social media channels. The Digital component leverages existing policy expertise in education, health, criminal justice, and economic/budget/tax issues, and the intersection of these issues with civil rights and immigration policy, to establish and carry out issue-based advocacy campaigns using digital platforms. The team also leverages large-scale voter registration, education, and mobilization efforts of the Civic Engagement department to continue to build and activate a national, digital community of Latinos. The team also works with Resource Development to develop effective online fundraising campaigns as well as NCLR Programs and Affiliate Member Services to communicate and disseminate success stories from the organization and its Affiliates as well as the marketing department to help promote organizational events, such as NCLR’s Annual Conference, Capitol and Alma Awards.

  • RESPONSIBILITIES Perform day-to-day operations of digital work for the department, focusing mostly on email

    and mobile platforms, and as a back-up for social media. Serve as the main contact to train staff to use online CRM (Salsa), manage the data and lists

    within the CRM, and work closely with consultants to execute activities through the mobile platform.

    Participate in campaign strategy sessions with Digital team as well as others to brainstorm new and innovative ways to use NCLR digital channels to advance the organizations goal.

    In consultation with policy teams and Resource Development, develop campaign work plans with benchmarks and tangible goals, evaluation tools and report metrics.

    Connect NCLRs offline advocacy work to its online advocacy work through networking, cross-posting, and other appropriate outreach, expanding NCLRs ability to reach and engage larger audiences and influence a national agenda.

    Produce weekly and monthly metric reports for online and mobile platforms. Monitor digital trends and provide regular feedback and ideas for staff to implement new

    ideas. Manage MOU partnerships with NCLR Affiliate organizations to assist them in building

    local networks for advocacy campaigns. Collaborate with issue-based teams (program and policy), resource development, field offices

    and Affiliate Member Services (AMS) to ensure cross-component collaboration and to maximize effectiveness.

    Tell the story about NCLR and its connection to the community and Affiliate Network in order to combat negative stereotypes and misperceptions about the Latino Community.

    Represent NCLR and communicate effectively in various settings (internally and with coalition partners, community members, the media, foundations) on select issues.

    Work with NCLR events department to strategize and carry out list-growth opportunities at NCLR Annual Conference and ALMA Awards.

    Manage and process Communications departments contracts and invoices for payment. QUALIFICATIONS:

    Bachelors degree with 2+ years relevant work experience required. Strong knowledge of CRM and CMS platforms, Salsa a plus. Strong knowledge of SMS/mobile technologies. Significant expertise using digital communications, both email and mobile, to advance

    advocacy or political campaigns. Expertise working with Latino and immigrant communities. Experience in working and developing coalitions. Interest in and general knowledge of NCLRs issues, programs, and constituencies required. Knowledge of legislative process and how the news media/cycle works and affects advocacy

    campaign strategy Strong ability to set and meet deadlines, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and

    prioritize assignments. Excellent, well-developed writing skills and ability to synthesize information from different

    sources and present it in a variety of written formats and styles for various audiences (i.e.,

  • funding proposals and reports, campaign materials, training toolkits, graphics, etc.). Flexible regarding schedule, working hours, and assignments, including ability to work

    evenings and weekends when necessary. Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud and/or other photo and video editing software

    a plus. Ability to travel occasionally. Bilingual (English/Spanish) ability preferred. The coordinator reports to the Senior Manager, Digital.
