ANNUAL REPORT 2014 3
The ESCP Europe Foundation took on a new dimension in 2012 with a status as registered charity
enabling it to develop its activities. Today, with an enlarged team of fi ve staff, the Foundation aims to
increase drastically its support of ESCP Europe.
This commitment has been demonstrated by the results of the year 2014.
The amount raised is over €2.1 million, bringing total donations since 2005 to €12 million.
The Foundation was able to provide almost €1.9 million for the development of the school in 2014
compared to €1.5 million in 2013: a remarkable increase of 21% from the previous year.
We thank our donors for their loyalty and generosity as well as our corporate sponsors.
These achievements are indeed signifi cant, but the School’s development prospects require us to
further our efforts so as to widen its infl uence and support its evolution.
Indeed, in a context of increased competition between business schools worldwide, ESCP Europe
must invest heavily to highlight its uniqueness as the only European Management School and one of
the best business schools in the world.
In 2015, ESCP Europe has launched new strategies:
on 3 campuses.
No doubt you will appreciate that our School cannot undertake such projects without the cooperation
and help of the wider ESCP Europe community: its network of 45,000 alumni, their families, businesses
and the professors.
Thus, our School, its Foundation and its Alumni Association form the 3 pillars of ESCP Europe;
3 complementary pillars working together to build excellence today and tomorrow.
2019 will mark the bicentenary of ESCP Europe. History makes us the oldest business school in the
world. We will celebrate this anniversary with pride and ambition. Let us show that we are the very best
school and let us ensure it has the fi nancial means necessary.
This will be achievable thanks to your commitment and your generosity.
We are counting on your support!

ANNUAL REPORT 2014 5
The ESCP Europe Foundation was launched by alumni in 2005 and has been a
Public Utility Foundation since 18 March 2012.
The Foundation supports ESCP Europe in its ambitions of academic excellence and
leadership.
In 2014, it accelerated the development of the School in 3 strategic directions:
Cultural diversity and equal opportunities
Promotion of high-level research, and more generally, projects aiming to
increase competitiveness and innovation in France and abroad.
Implementation of innovative teaching methods.
To achieve its goals, the Foundation appeals to graduates and companies for
donations. It aims to fi nance at least 10% of the School budget in 5 years’ time.
The solidarity of all Alumni in facing ESCP Europe’s challenges will be one of the
main vectors for achieving our ambitions.

facilitating the access of students of merit to high-level education by ensuring that
tuition fees or social and geographical origin are not a barrier.
In 2014, thanks to alumni donations, 56 students were awarded scholarships based

European or international entrance exams, received a scholarship and were
exempted from tuition fees for one year: €240,000

DIVERSITY AND EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES
REVEALING TALENTS
In addition to its renown, ESCP Europe seemed to me to be the most open on a European level, offering numerous international opportunities professionally and personally. The scholarship awarded by the ESCP Europe Foundation enabled me to undertake my studies without so many fi nancial worries. I can also concentrate more on my future entry into working life. A big thank you to the ESCP Europe Foundation!

EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES PROGRAMME: €55,000
Since 2009, the Foundation has supported the “Double Ascension” programme

areas whose career path was predestined. With the support of the ESCP Europe Foundation, 17 students followed the programme in 2014 and a language study trip of a week in Ireland was fi nanced.
EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE FUNDS: €15,000 OF WHICH € 5,600 WERE USED IN 2014
The emergency assistance fund of the ESCP Foundation was made available to the
School to help students in diffi culty.
The aims of this fund are threefold:
to provide a rapid response to emergency situations encountered by students
to improve the lives of students with disabilities
to decrease the risk of withdrawal from studies due to a change in the social or
family situation of a student.
It is an important expression of the ESCP Europe Community’s cohesion.
Coming from Armenia, I joined ESCP Europe on the Master in Marketing & Creativity.Unfortunately, my fi rst months in France turned out to be a lot more diffi cult than I had expected. In effect, I had to face serious health problems. Far from home and my family, I asked the ESCP Europe and the Foundation’s team for support. They gave me the moral and fi nancial help that I needed. It was vital to my recovery.Today I have fi nished my treatment and I am being constantly monitored. I have been able to get my life back and will resume my studies this fall.I would like to thank sincerely the whole ESCP Europe team who supported me during this hardship.

ANNUAL REPORT 2014 33
As a former scholarship student, I am particularly sensitive to
diversity and equal opportunities. It is essential that students
who have the will and the skills to join the School are not
prevented from doing so for fi nancial reasons.
I got involved with the Foundation as a major donor. It is a
great satisfaction for me to give back what I received, so that
others like me have the chance to realise their dreams and
get off on the right foot professionally.
“
”
As a donor, I have access to highly exclusive events
organised by the Foundation. By becoming a donor I have
been able to see the real size and strength of the ESCP
Europe network.
“
”
I give to the ESCP Europe Foundation because I am deeply proud and grateful
to my school, its network and its excellence. My commitment helps make
this unique school one of the very best in the world, and this excellence
refl ects on me as an alumnus.

THOMAS RAJZBAUM (CLASS OF 2006)
I decided to support the ESCP Europe Foundation because it seems to me
essential to invest in the development of our School and thus prepare its
future. It also ensures that future students receive the excellent education
from which I personally benefi ted.
