ARCTIC MONKEYS – FAVOURITE WORST NIGHTMARE

FRONT COVER

The cover is relatively simple as it shows a row of houses, which could represent the bands roots.

However the bright and complete art coming from the windows could show how the band are different with their music.

The title is bold in yellow which stands out against the black and white background.

The title is abstract much like the images shown through the windows, this further emphasises the abstract nature of the music which the band produces.

The front cover follows the conventions of having the band name on the front of the digipak, as well as the album title. The eye catching image is shown within the windows of the building.

INSIDE LEFT AND RIGHT

The grey background cover of the digipak is continued throughout the digipak. However the bright coloured abstract images are being projected on the dark house. This could show how the music is bring streets alive with their music.

Even though we see the bright images, a table and chairs can be clearly seen in the image.

The images are child like such as a lion and panda, which to a child when drawn as above could cause a nightmare, such as the album is titled.

The inside covers have no text which challenges the digipak conventions, however it has more artwork which is continued throughout the digipak.

THE BACK

The back cover has the name of the band in a large text so that it can be clearly seen.

The list of songs is small and doesn’t take up much of the cover.

The title is in just the Favourite Worst Nightmare is slightly smaller than the band name but it is still just a prominent.

The back of the digipak follows conventions as it contains a barcode, song list, band and album name as well as record label and extra information. This means that any consumer could pick up the digipak and instantly know where all the key information as the conventions are followed.
