DIGESTIVE SYSTEM.

WHAT DOES IT DO?
It extracts the nutrients from the food.

It expels the waste products that our body doesn’t need.
1st STEP
In the mouth, the teeth chew the food. The salivary glands produce saliva and saliva mixes with food and makes a bolus.
2nd STEP
Then, the bolus goes to a small tube called oesophagus.

Next, the bolus reaches the stomach.
4th STEP
After that, the gastric juices break down the bolus and transform it into a thick liquid.

The gastric juices also kill dangerous bacteria.

The bile produced by the liver and the pantreatic juices produced by the pancreas are mixed with the thick liquid.
