Digestive SystemThe human gastrointestinal tract, or GI tract,or GIT is an organ system responsible for consuming and digesting foodstuffs, absorbing nutrients, and expelling waste.

Functions of the GI system• Motility: movement through the GI tract
• Digestion: breakdown of food or chyme
• Secretion and absorption: across and epithelial layer
either into the GI tract (secretion) or into blood
(absorption)
• Storage and elimination
Parts of the stomach• Fundus• body• pyloric region (pyloric sphincter)• material passed from the stomach to the small
intestine is called the chyme.• The gastric glands of the stomach contain
several types of cells:
Antiulcerants• Esmax (Esomeprazole)
20 mg & 40 mg Capsule20 mg Tablet
• Pramax (Pantoprazole) 20 mg & 40 mg Tablet
• Opmax (Omeprazole)20 mg & 40 mg Capsule
Indications of PPIs 1. Gastro esophageal reflux disease: ( GERD) • It is a chronic symptom of mucosal damage caused by stomach acid
coming up from the stomach into the esophagus tube.

Indications of PPIs 5. Gastric Ulcer Peptic ulcers are open sores that develop on theinside lining of your esophagus, stomach and theupper portion of your small intestine. The mostcommon symptom of a peptic ulcer is abdominalpain.
Gastro-Prokinetic Agent
• Doagut Tablet 10 mg (Domperidone)• Doagut Tablet Suspension
5mg/5ml (Domperidone)
Mechanism of ActionDomperidone is a peripheral dopamine (D2) and(D3) receptor antagonist.
It provides relief from nausea by blockingreceptors at the chemo-receptor trigger zone (alocation in the nervous system that registersnausea) at the floor of the fourth ventricle (alocation near the brain).
Indications
• Nausea & Vomiting• Non-ulcer dyspepsia• Reflux Esophagitis and Gastritis • Functional Dyspepsia• Migraine
