On Thursday, October 15, 2009, the Semiconductor and Electronics Industries in the Philippines, Inc. (SEIPI) had its 98th General Membership Meeting and celebrated its 25th Silver Anniversary since its founding in 1984. The event, entitled “SEIPI Oktoberfest”, was held at the NBC Tent, Bonifacio Global City in partnership with the German Club of Manila and Mandarin Oriental Manila. Nearly 1000 people at-tended the event and were entitled to an all-authentic Bavarian Food and entertained by The Gunther Friedmann Band which was flown in from Munich, Germany.

After a brutal downturn that started in Q4’08 with the global financial crisis. Q1’09 represents the bottom of the industry’s market de-cline.
The industry's revenue growth resumes sequential
growth from Q2’09. Q3’09 is better than Q2’09 but still pretty bad.
However, it is still already better than Q4’08.
Revenue in Q4’09 should be better.

The dawn of Tuesday, October 20, 2009 greeted 99 players from over 61 companies as they started to tee-off on the Banahaw Course of the multi-awarded Sta. Elena Golf Club, Laguna – venue of SEIPI’s 25th Silver Anniversary Golf Tournament coinciding with the Philippine Electronics Week of 2009. Tee House Snacks were sponsored by Burger King, thanks to Mr. Bert Lina, Julicious/Peak beverages were given by Mr. Jake Peña of Sydenham, and Personal Care Kits and products were generously sponsored by Mr. Chito Macapagal of Unilever Philippines. Each player also received commemorative SEIPI at 25 Silver Umbrellas courtesy of Globe Business. Everyone was wearing their complimentary SEIPI at 25 commemorative shirts and golf caps during the first ever Photo Session at the Hacienda Room of the Club House where lunch was also held, as well as the tro-phy awarding and the 25 Major Prizes were raffled out.
