Antonio Márquez is one of the most active representatives of classical Spanish dance of recent years. After a brilliant career as the first dancer in the Spanish National Ballet Ballet Nacional de España, he created his own dance company Compañía de Antonio Márquez in 1995. Since then he has travelled the world to critical acclaim winning awards in Italy, France, Brazil, Hungary, Switzerland, Greece, Portugal, the United States and Japan.

This performance is a tribute to the great flamenco dancer & choreographer ANTONIO RUIZ SOLER, nicknamed Antonio “The Dancer” who died in 1996 at the age of 74. His ballet-inspired footwork and arm movements brought new prominence to male dancers on the Spanish stage in the 1940’s, 50’s and 60’s.

Antonio Márquez es uno de los representantes activos del Baile Clásico Español de los últimos años. Después de una brillante carrera como primer bailarín del Ballet Nacional de España, ha creado su propia compañía de baile, la Compañia de Antonio Márquez en 1995. Desde entonces ha viajado por el mundo recibiendo buenas críticas y ganando premios en Italia, Francia, Brasil, Hungría, Suiza, Grecia, Portugal, Estados Unidos y Japón.

Esta actuación es un homenaje al fantástico bailaor de flamenco y coreógrafo ANTONIO RUIZ SOLER, llamado “El Bailaor” quien falleció en 1996 a los 74 años.
