PRIVATE ELEMENTARY TEACHER TRAINING INSTITUTESIN THE STATE OF ANDHRA PRADESH DURING 2011-12 & 2012-13

1. Eligibility Criteria for Admission :a) Candidate should be of Indian Nationality.

b) The Candidate should satisfy Local / Non-Local Status requirements as laid down in the A.P. Educational Institutions(Regulation of admission )Order 1974 as subsequently amended.

c) Candidates should have obtained a rank in DIET CET 2011 and should satisfy the eligibility criteria prescribed.

d) Age Limit: The candidates should have completed 17 years as on 01-09-2011. There is no upper age limit.

e) Educational Qualifications:

i) The candidate who passed or appeared for the 10+2 Examinations (qualifying examination) or its equitant as are eligiblefor appear for the entrance test. But they should have passed the qualifying examination at the time of admission.

ii) The candidate should have secured 45 percent of marks in aggregate in qualifying examination. The minimum percentageof marks in the case of Scheduled Caste. Scheduled Tribe and Physically Challenged candidates shall however be 40percent. The candidates who passed Intermediate examination with vocational course(s) are not eligible .

f) Qualifying marks: Candidates belonging to “OC” and “BC” communities shall secure at least 35 percent marks in DIETCET for assigning merit rank in the CET. However there shall be no minimum qualifying marks in respect of “SC/ST”candidates for allotment of seats reserved under the respective categories.

2. Scheme of Entrance Test :

The Common Entrance Examination shall be of completely objective type containing only Multiple choice questions inThree parts. I, II & III. The duration of written examination is Two hours only. With maximum marks of 100 as shown below:

Note :(a) The subject and syllabi of the test shall be of the standard of classes VIII to X of A.P.State Syllabus for part /I & part

III of the test.(b) The medium of Entrance Test: Question Paper shall be in Telugu/English or Urdu/English and Tamil English only.

(c) The candidates who studied SSC/Intermediate in the medium concerned(Telugu, Urdu, English or Tamil) or whostudied Telugu or Urdu or Tamil as first language in SSC or its equivalent or who studied as one of the abovelanguages in part II in Intermediate exam are alone eligible for admission of seats in concerned medium viz. Telugu/Urdu/English/Tamil offered by the institution concerned.

(d) Only the candidates who obtain qualifying marks in the C.E.T. shall be assigned ranks as per order of merit.However SC & ST candidates shall be given rank, irrespective of marks secured by them in CET.

(e) No requests for re-totaling of marks, revaluation of answer scripts or personal identification of answer scripts will beentertained.

(f) The C.E.T. will be conducted at different examination centers to be constituted at District Head quarters only and notat any other place.

(g) Tamil medium candidates should write the test in Chittor district Head Quarters only.

3. Conduct of Test (DIET CET):(a) Time fixed for conduct of Test (Two hours duration) From 10-30 a.m. to 12-30 p.m(b) Chief Controlling Officer for conduct of DIET C.E.T. at District level shall be the D.E.O. of the District concerned.

4. Allotment of Seats:All the sanctioned intake of seats in D.Ed course in the Govt DIETs and Private un aided Elementary TeacherEducation Institutions shall be filed by the Convener DIET CET and Admissions. Such seats shall be allotted to thecandidates on the basis of the rank obtained in DIET CET. The intake capacity in each institute may change fromtime to time as decided by NCTE (National Council for Teacher Education). The admission procedure will be followedas per the G.Os mentioned above.

5. Local Candidate - Definition:A candidate for admission shall be regarded as a local candidate in relation to local areai) If he / she has studied in one or more educational institution (s) in such local area for a period of not less than four

consecutive academic years ending with the academic year in which he / she appeared or as the case may be, firstappeared in the relevant qualifying examination, or

ii) Where, during the whole or any part of the four consecutive academic years in which he / she appeared or as thecase may be, first appeared for the relevant qualifying examination, if he / she has not studied in any educationalinstitution and if he / she has resided in that local area for a period of not less than four years immediately precedingthe date of commencement of the relevant qualifying examination in which he / she appeared or as the case may be,first appeared.

iii) A candidate for admission to the course who is not regarded as local candidate under clause (i) in relation to anylocal area shalla) If he studied in Educational Institutions in the state for a period of not less than (7) consecutive academic years

ending with the acadlemic year in which he/she appeared or, as the case may be, first appeared for the relevantqualifying examination be regarded as a local candidate in relation to,

(i) such local area where he / she studied for the maximum period out of said period of seven years OR(ii) where the period of his / her study in two or more local areas are equal, such local area, where he / she has

studied last in such equal period OR(b) If, during the whole or any part of seven consecutive academic years ending with the academic year in which he

/ she appeared or, as the case may be, first appeared for the relevant qualifying examination, he / she has notstudied in the educational institutions in any local area, but has resided in the state during the whole of the saidperiod of seven years, be regarded as a local candidate in relation to :

(a) Such local area where he / she has resided for the maximum period out of the said period of seven years; or(b) Where the period of his / her residence in two or more local areas are equal, such local area where he / she has

resided last in such equal period, OR.(c) The following categories of candidates are eligible to apply for admission to the remaining 15% of unreserved

seats.(i) All the candidates eligible to be declared as the local candidates.

6. Rule of reservation :85% of seats shall be reserved for the local candidates and remaining 15% of seats shall be unreserved seats.

(A) The rules of reservation of seats for SC / ST / BC / PCP / NCC / SCOUTS & GUIDES / DEFENCE PERSONNEL etc.,shall be followed as prescribed by the government from time to time.

(B) The following specific cases will be considered under PCP Reservation quota.The Blind (PCP Blind) : Persons suffering from either of the following conditions.

(i) Total absence of sight:(ii) Visual equity not exceeding 6/60, 20/200 (snellen) in the better eye with correcting lenses.(Hi) Limitation of the field of vision substanding an angle of 20 or worse.

The hearing Impaired (PCP Deaf) : Persons in whom the sense of hearing is non-functional for ordinary purposes of life. Theydo not hear and understand sounds at all even with amplified speech. The cases included in this category are those having lossmore than 90 decibels in the better ear (profound impairment, total loss of hearing in both ears).Orthopaedically Handicapped (PCP-Ortho) : Persons having a physical 40% defect or deformity or more which causesinterference with the functional capacity of the bones, muscles and joints.

Note:(a) “Functional capacity” means the ability to perform certain physical functions such as to walk, run, lift, push, see, hear etc.(b) The selection authority shall have the right to reject any candidate if in his opinion any particular disability is

detriment to the teaching profession.(c) If qualified candidates are not available under this quota the seats left over shall be treated as unreserved.

(C) Reservations of Seats for the Defence Personnel, their children, spouses: For Ex-Servicemen, Defence Personnel,Border Security Force and Central Reserve Police Force residing in Andhra Pradesh and / or their children / spouses, Asper rules.

(D) Reservations of seats for NCC / Scouts and Guides / Sports and Games / Physically challenged persons / Defensepersonnel :

7. Issue of hall tickets : Hall Tickets will be dispatched to the candidates by the Convenor well in advance before theexamination date. Hall Tickets can be obtained through internet also.

8. Issue of Rank card : Rank cards will be dispatched to the candidates by the Convenor. Rank cards can be obtainedthrough internet also.

9. Codes: To fill up the Boxes in the application form & ICR BIO-DATA form the codes indicated in the ICR Bio-data formshould be used.

Note: Convenor reserves the right to take all actions to ascertain genuineness of certificates of candidates and genuineness ofcandidates themselves at any stage of admission or during course of study in case already admitted.

10. Special Instructions to the candidates:1. The filled in ICR Form should be submitted by post to the Convenor, DIET CET-2011 O/o. C & DSE, A.P., Hyderabad

- 500 004, on or before 08-04-2011 by 5.00 p.m.2. The Halt Ticket issued to the candidate is an important document. Please Preserve the Hall Ticket carefully till the

admissions for the course are completed.3. The Hall Ticket is not transferable. Any tampering with the hall Ticket will lead to disqualification of the candidate.4. Arrive at the examination hall at least 30 minutes before the commencement of the examination.5 Please note that candidates wilt not be allowed to enter the examination hall once the examination had commenced.6. Please carry the following to the examination hall :

i) Good ball-point pen ii) A writing pad iii) One or two HB Pencils iv) Eraser & Sharpener7. Besides items listed in 6 above, candidates should bring only the Hall Ticket. They should not bring any other

material. This instruction booklet also should not be brought to the Examination Hall.8. Any candidate found in possession of any forbidden material will be liable for severe action. Therefore please do not

bring any material with you other than Hall Ticket and items listed in 6 above. Do not bring logarithm tables,calculators, etc.

9. Candidates must remain seated in their allotted places till completion of the examination. They will not be allowedto leave the examination hall till the end of the examination.

10. The answer-sheet is OMR sheet. Please handle the sheet carefully. Do not fold, wrinkle or tear the answer-sheet. Donot scribble or make any marks on the answer-sheet.Please note that you wilt not be given under any circumstances, a second blank answer sheet. Therefore be carefulin handling your answer-sheet.

11. Read the instructions on the question paper carefully before you start answering the questions. The question paperwill contain 100 multiple choice questions each with four (4) choices, of which there will be one correct answer. Youhave to mark the correct answer in the answer-sheet by shading dark in the appropriate circle with HB Pencil.Please do not use the ball-pen for this purpose.

12. Penalties: DIET CET is covered by ACT NO.25 of 1997 Andhra Pradesh State Legislative Assembly. If any candidateor any person consists any offences in Examination / Test he / she will be liable for severe action including criminalproceedings.
