    Starting a DIBELS Next Progress Monitoring Assessment

    Progress Monitoring helps teachers determine a students reading performance between Benchmark windows. These

    ongoing assessments take minimal time to administer and help teachers determine the appropriate instructional levefor each student throughout the year.

    The monitoring schedule depends on the students risk category. With DIBELS Next, high-risk students are typicallymonitored every week and some-risk students are monitored every two weeks. The Progress Monitoring suggestionsmay vary from district to district contact your institutions administrators for more information.

    Offline Web Assessment

    1. After y ou create the mCLASS:DIBELS Next shortcut, tap it on your device's Home screen. If you are promptedto log in, enter your user name and password.

    2. From theApplication Selection Screen, tap DIBELS Next.3. The Class List displays. Tap any student's name to go to the Student File.

    4. On the Student File, tap Progress Monitoring.

    5. The Progress Monitoring page for the student displays. Recommended measures appear in the Assessment list,and you can see all the student's scores for that assessment. Tap the Assessment list to see other measures.To switch to a different measure, select it (then tap Done on iOS devices).

    6. Tap Assess to begin.7. After s electing a DIBELS Next measure, the Progress Monitoring Form Selection screen appears. Each DIBELS

    Next measure has 20 psychometrically equivalent assessment forms to monitor progress. Select an unused formfor assessment. A form with a tally mark indicates the student already completed it. Consider administering aform the student has not yet seen.

    If you need to assess a student at a different grade level, tap the Out-of-grade forms box and select a formfrom the grade that best reflects the student's skill level.

    Palm and Aceeca Devices

    1. From the Class List, tap the Progress Monitoring cell for any student in the Class List. If you cannot find thestudent, select a different class from the list above the student names.

    2. The Student File Progress Monitoring tab opens to show the results for completed Progress Monitoringassessments. It also shows the Progress Monitoring recommendation for the selected measure. Tap the Graphto view the Progress Monitoring Graph. Select the Progress Monitoring measure you want to assess from the lis
