Family Planning Association and Advice to theUnmarried
On Oct. 13 this Association’s national council received aninterim report from its executive committee, which has beenconsidering whether unmarried people can be advised inF.P.A. clinics. A final report is to be presented to the councilat its next meeting in June, 1967, when it is expected that adecision will be reached.
Society of Medical Officers of HealthResearch group.-This group is to hold a symposium at the
Wellcome Foundation, Euston Road, London N.W.1, onThursday, Nov. 10, at 10.45 A.M. The subject will be mentalhealth, and the programme will include lectures on residentialcare for the mentally subnormal, psychotic children, and drugtreatment of schizophrenia. This conference will be held at the Royal College of
Surgeons of England, Lincoln’s Inn Fields, London W.C.2,from Sunday to Thursday, April 2 to 6, 1967. The themewill be safe surgery, and the programme will include lectureson the metabolic response to operation and injury, themaintenance of hommostasis, circulatory and respiratoryproblems, and organ dysfunction. At a joint meeting of the Anglo-Continental Medical Society andthe Anglo-German Medical Society on Tuesday, Nov. 15, at
