Each team first chose a work of art, famous or not, a work in which we could imagine a problem with gender inequality.

Of course, every interpretation is free and does not match what the artist intended in his original work. But it is interesting to note that the artworks also convey gender stereotypes.

With a little imagination, one can see that the art represented almost all forms of gender violence ...

Then we search to illustrate this work using a sexist proverb. It's easy, women have been devalued for centuries by society.

Our job was then to divert the work of art, by taking some elements but criticizing or correcting the stereotype of the origin of gender violence.

Most students chose to reinterpret the work of art by a photo from a staging finely crafted

Here the work of Jules and Mourad, who took over the scene of the Furies pursuing Orestes but reversing the roles: They denounce the harassment of women as a tragic reality in France: 10% of women have experienced it in our countries.

Here is another work: Ystan used emotion to make us feel the terror of a victim of emotional jealousy. This contradicts the picture of Artemisia Gentileschi, the victim is actually most often a woman. The picture was slightly altered by computer.

Others have created a comic strips effect to imitate the works of Lichtestein as Axelle and Leila, who denounced the fact that society teaches boys to fight rather than cry.

Some people as Tiffany and Viny proposed a drawing, to dress again the models of the original works, especially when it is about prostitutes. The prostitution is a violence against the women, which is tolerated. To end this hypocrisy, our government intends to forbid it.

Finally, other directly ask the viewer, staging a homosexual kiss : Does it bother you? Got a problem? Indeed, most of the attacks against homosexuals are gratuitous and take place in public places. We count on average four victims of homophobia by day in France, victims of insults, rejection, physical violence…

Well, you got a glimpse of our artistic work on gender violence. We intend to continue this project by participating in a contest, wider all around gender stereotypes, organized by an association. When we have finished, we hope you will enjoy it.
