profiles along each surveyed line. The total magnetic field in the
area surveyed is about 58 500 f 500 gammas.
background value of 58 500 gammas was subtracted from each reading

profile - a reading of 58 600 gammas is plotted as + 100 gamnas.

A reconnaissance magnetometer survey was also carried
out on the Oc group of claims. Tie-in points were set up at 1 km
intervals to correct for diurnal variation. The maximum time
elaspsed between reading the base station and tie in was 3 hours.
Stat ons were read at 50 meter intervals along the line. Corrected
read ngs are presented on the Reconnaissance Magnetometer Survey
map.
1. d) Magnetometer Survey Results
A magnetic survey was carried out in the vicinity of
the S2 mineral showing. Some magnetic variation was found in the
survey. Magnetic lows occurred at 3+OOE, 1+5 N and 2+00E, 1+00N.
A significant magnetic low occurs at survey station
L1+00E, 2+00N is related to magnetite at the S2 showing. The
other magnetic features remain unexplained.
The reconnaissance magnetometer survey on the Oc
group revealed an area of moderate magnetic relief in the O+OOS to
l5+OOS area.
relief. Geology mapping in the area following the magnetometer
survey indicates that the northern section of the claims to approx-
imately 20+00S is underlain by a pyrrhotite rich black shale. The

Heavy sulfide mineralization in angular float, which was

hand trenched the area at several spots. These have subsequently
sloughed in and no mineralization can now be seen in outcrop. A new
trench was excavated in 1979 in order to sample the mineralization

and exposed a section of shallow dipping, dark green uniform chlorite
schists with minor calcite streaks. The trend of the schistosity
' was measured to be 1700 / I 5 O \d. At the NW end o f the trench a
section of massive pyrite with visible chalcopyrite 0.5 meters in
thickness was uncovered. The mineralization was assayed and found
to contain 0.89% Cu, 0.03% Pb, 0.12% Zn, 0.26 oz. Ag per ton (see
Appendix 2, T1 sample). This mineralization uncovered was of the
same type and tenor as that noted in the angular float from the area
around the trench, and is believed to be the source of the float.
