A powerful microprocessor based device, fitted in the vehicle, has a satellite based Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver and a GSM/GPRS module which obtains location information and relays it back to a Central Control Room Server over the mobile phone network. The Ambulances are fitted with GPS/GPRS Tracking units
Dispatchers view a digital map of the city
The Mobile Units continuously update the Base Station with their location information, which in turn is displayed at the GUI of Dispatchers, with the help of the GIS server In case of distress, the individual dials XXXX for assistance This call is routed to the PSTN Gateway in the Control Room from the PSTN Exchange
PSTN Gateway converts it to IP packetsGiving you the vision to control

The Gateway routes the call to a free Dispatcher
The Gateway forwards the caller id to the GIS server Callers location is spotted on the display of the Dispatcher ( where telephone location data is geo referenced)
The Operator at the Dispatcher station attends the call
The Operator collects the details of the location where support is to be extended if different from the caller location
Dispatcher sends the address of distress location to the GIS Server, if required, and it is also spotted in the map

The Operator then identifies the nearby free Ambulance vehicle
The Operator sends details of the location, priority and any other information of interest to the identified Ambulance vehicle
If required, a voice call can also be set up / patched with the Ambulance vehicle
Vehicles moves to the distress spot, it can be watched and guided.
Wherever required, the ambulance can be guided to take the patient to the appropriate geo-referenced hospital
On completing the mission, the ambulance vehicle sends a pre-defined status message, indicating the end of actions
All activities at each workstation is logged
Reports can be generated in various formats based on different parameters.
The Duty officer will have access to all data.
