The Scoop
“Where Every Child Counts”
What’s Up, Dude?
Volume 7:
March Edition
The teachers of MJH work diligently and passionately day in
and day out to provide your child with first-class instruction
that fosters personal growth and success making MJH a
great place to learn! Our curriculum is constantly being
reviewed and revised through endless analyzation of student
data in order to meet the needs of ALL students throughout the year. Our teachers
at MJH are dedicated individuals that love kids and love teaching! We are not only
preparing students to be successful on state assessments but more importantly
preparing them to flourish at the high school level and beyond. All we can ask of our
students is to do their very best on everything they do!
State assessments, STAAR testing, are just around the corner so it’s time
for our students to show what they know! Our students are here to show the STAAR
test who’s BOSS!! We ask that you please make sure that your child gets plenty of
rest and that he/she has a healthy breakfast on the day of testing. Your child’s
attendance on testing days are extremely important so we advise you to reschedule
any doctor or dentist appointments to a later date. It is also crucial that your child
arrives at school on time and that he/she stays for the full school day.
If at all possible any electronic devices (cell phones, iPads, iPods, blackber-
ries, kindles, apple watches, etc.) should be left at home on the day of testing. If
not, be aware that all electronic devices will be taken up before testing and given
back at the end of the 4 hour testing window. Comfortable clothing is encouraged
so that the students feel relaxed and ready to ace the test but please make sure
they are still in dress code (no pajama’s, pillows, or blankets are allowed). Thank
you for your assistance in helping your child have a successful testing experience!
Here we go! LET’S DO THIS!! Testing dates are as follows:

doing honorable deeds! Every other month,
students will be recognized for good character.
Students will have a catered luncheon with the
principal and counselor in The Social House. A
group picture of these “Kids of Character” will be
taken and displayed in our showcase and on our
webpage. I am very proud of each and every one
of these students for doing the right thing by por-
