Note I. The Departmental Officers in the feeder category who are in the direct line of promotion shallnot be eligible for consideration for appointment on deputation. Similarly, deputationists shall not beeligible for consideration for appointment by promotion. (Period of deputation including the period ofdeputation in another ex-cadre post held immediately preceding this appointment in the same or someother organization or department ofthe Central Government shall ordinarily not exceed four years.) Themaximum age limit for appointment on deputation (including short-term contract) shall be not exceeding56 years, as on the closing date of receipt of application.

The qualification(s) regarding experience is/are relaxable at the discretion of Union PublicService Commission in the case of candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes and the ScheduledTribes, if at any stage of selection the Union Public Service Commission, is of the opinion that sufficientnumber of candidates from these communities possessing the requisite experience are not likely to beavailable to fill up the vacancies reserved for them.

Nature of Duties

Deputy Director (S&R) is the head of field offices/field stations of S&R Division. He is tocarryout supervision and inspection of Quality Control and R&D Activities for assessment of quality offood grain in Central pool during procurement, Storage and distribution under PDS.

The officers selected will have the option to draw his grade pay plus deputation (duty) allowances orto have his pay fixed in the time scale of the pay attached to this post in accordance with the DOP&T'sO.M. No. 2/29/91-Estt. (Pay II) dated 05.01.1994. as amended from time to time.

It is requested that appl ications (in tripl icate) in the enclosed Performa, along with the complete andup-to-date Confidential Reports Dossier of the officers eligible who could be spared immediately in theevent of their selection, may kindly be forwarded so as to reach this Ministry within 60 days from the dateof isslJe of this circular. While forwarding the applications, it may also be verified and certified thatparticulars furnished by the officers are correct and that no vigilance case is either pending orcontemplated against them.
