http://www.agdi.info This firmware resources sharing can help both of us to get more quickly needed files. Please respect the others users sharing… This guide explain how to setup BitTorrent Sync to share our firmware resources, only the shared folder is available to others, transfer between peer are AES-128 encrypted. We will share this resources with read only permission, so no one can delete your files.

Step 1 : We need to change the working dir of DFL-WDII, because we don’t need to share the program executable, dlls and drivers. You have to do this only if you not change the Working dir place.

So we start DFL-WDII and go in SETUP ���� Options I put myself: “C:\DFL-WD\ “ but you can choose the one that fits your needs.

Do not forget to move the firmware from the old place in the new folder.

Step 2 : We download the BitTorrent Sync install file: http://btsync.s3-website-us-east-1.amazonaws.com/BTSync.exe We install the software:

Choose the right folder, we want to share!!!!

Select the shared folder:

Right Click on the shared folder to have the folder preferences

The code that we will give each other is the Read only Secret one. So other user can’t make modifications inside you folder.

Step 2 : We add an user’s shared folder to our computer

We select: Add a Sync Folder

“Folder Secret” is the read only key you got from the user “Folder to Sync” is where you want to put the files.

I created a Folder “SHARED DFL FIRMWARES” where I put all individual synced user’s folder. One subfolder can only sync by one user due of software limitations and the fact we don’t use a R/W shared folder to avoid loss of data. I explain later why I do like that. Once you click on OK the sync begin.

The sync speed depends of the internet connection speed and the amount of data to sync. You can setup some bandwidth limits in Preferences:

When I need a resource I move to my folder where all my shared subfolders are:
