The annual Shri Ram Navami festival was held by the Shree Saibaba Sansthan Trust, Shirdi this year from Saturday, March 24, 2018 to Monday, March 26, 2018, in an air of piety amidst chants of ‘Jai Shri Sai Ram’.

The Ram Navami festival was started in Shirdi in 1911 with the permission of Shri Sai Baba. Since then this festival is celebrated every year in Shirdi with great enthusiasm. Sai devotees from all over the country and abroad come to Shirdi for this festival. Well planned arrangements were made to facilitate easy and convenient Darshan for the devotees during the festival. Cloth mandaps were erected in the temple premises to provide shade from the heat. Along with security guards, water and electricity facilities were also provided. Also, to ensure proper shelter facility, cloth mandapswith beddings were erected by the Sansthan at various places on the Mumbai – Shirdi route for pilgrims on foot (padayatris) accompanying the palkhis (palanquins). Water and electric

supply were provided in the mandaps. Mobile medical squad was kept in service on the Sinnar – Shirdi route to ensure instant medical care to the padayatris. And, first aid centers were started at the temple premises, Darshanline, 500-rooms New Bhakta Niwas Sthan, Sai Ashram, Shri Sai Prasadalaya and other places. Similarly accommodation was arranged in the Sai Dharmashala for the padayatris after they reached Shirdi.

Kakad Aarati was done at 4.30 a.m, early morning on the first day of the festival on Saturday, March 24, 2018. After the KakadAarati, a grand procession of Shri Sai Baba’s Photo, the holy Grantha Shri Sai Sat Charita and the Veena with the playing of musical instruments was taken out from the Shri Sai Samadhi Mandir to Dwarkamai. Sri Chandrashekhar Kadam, Vice Chairman of the Sansthan, stating that the task of serving patients started by Shri Sai Baba was accomplished through the free plastic surgery camp organized jointly by the Shree Saibaba Sansthan Trust, Shirdi, Give Me Foundation and Association of Plastic Surgeons on the occasion of the Centenary Year of Shri Sai Baba’s Samadhi, assured that the Sansthan would duly co-operate in this camp in future.

He was addressing as Chairman of the concluding function of the 3-days camp. In the leadership of Dr. Hyung Chi from Taiwan, plastic surgeons from Taiwan, Singapore, Thailand, Italy, Philipines and Peru and from Kerala, Mumbai and Aurangabad in India performed these surgeries, for difficult and complex disorders, like elephantiasis, stuck neck, fingers and hands at birth or due to burns, free of cost at the Shri Sai Nath Hospital.

Giving information about this in detail, Sri Bavankule stated that the Shree Saibaba Sansthan Trust, Shirdi had submitted the proposal for the proposed 10 M. W. A. C. capacity grid connected Solar Energy project to MEDA. Having been given the technical sanction by MEDA for this on April 25, 2018, he stated that the government will give all assistance to the Sansthan for getting the administrative approval and immediately calling

for tenders and completing the Solar Energy project in six months. The energy burden on the Sansthan will be completely reduced after the completion of this project. Sri Bavankule, therefore, congratulated the Chairman of the Sansthan Dr. Suresh Haware, Chief Executive Officer Smt. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Haware stated, ‘‘Shree Saibaba Sansthan runs two hospitals, Shri Sai Baba Super Speciality Hospital and Shri Sai Nath Hospital. Surgeries for heart, bone, brain and spinal chord ailments are done at the Shri Sai Baba Super Speciality Hospital. Surgeries are done free of cost under the Mahatma Phule Jeevandayi Yojana for the yellow and saffron coloured ration card holders. In this hospital medicines are given along with blessings. This hospital has earned the distinction of conducting a record highest number of cardiac surgeries in the last 5 years under

the Mahatma Phule Jeevandayi Yojana in the State. The over 15 years old Cathlab machine in use in this hospital has been replaced with the ultra modern machine of Shimadzu company of Japan costing Rs. 5 crores. This machine has a guarantee of 10 years and service warranty of 5 years. This machine has been tested too by conducting 250 surgeries. With an ultra modern MRI and CT Scan machines to be purchased for this hospital of the Sansthan, about 250 various equipments will be replaced soon.” Therefore, along with specialist doctors, this hospital will be equipped with state-of-the-art machines, stating so Dr. Haware called upon more and more patients in the State to avail the benefit of the Sansthan s hospital.

The Sai sevak scheme started from July 29, 2017 by the Shree Saibaba Sansthan Trust, Shirdi on the occasion of the Shri Sai Baba Samadhi Centenary Mahotsav (Mega Festival), having evoked very good response, Sai devotees from various states in the country have participated in the scheme.

This scheme conceived by Dr. Suresh Haware, Chairman of the Sansthan, was started on the occasion of the Shri Sai Baba Samadhi Centenary Mahotsav, to enhance the sense of service in the Shri Sai Baba temple and to treat devotees with a service

oriented behaviour.

In this Sai sevak scheme, groups of 21 Sai sevaks being formed, each group works from Tuesday to Monday. These Sai sevaksrender week-long service from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. daily in a week.

520 Sai sevak groups from Maharashtra, Gujarat, Goa, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, West Bengal, Delhi, Orissa, Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh, Kerala and Uttarakhand having registered in this scheme, 7261 Sai devotees through 363 Sai sevakgroups have rendered service under the Sai sevak scheme till date.

These Sai sevaks are given the opportunity to do Sai seva for 7 days at a stretch in a year in the temple premises, security department, Shri Sai Prasadalaya, ladoo department and the Niwas Sthans.

These Sai sevaks uttering ‘Om Sai Ram’ resolve issues of Sai devotees with reverence and an attitude of service.

These Sai sevaks are provided identity card and uniform and their stay in the Sansthan, meal, breakfast and tea arrangements are made free of cost.

Tuesday are greeted and those who complete their seva are felicitated with a certificate on behalf of the Sansthan. Also, the Sai sevaks participating in this programme are administered the oath of cleanliness and abstinence from addictions.

Responding to the felicitation, Sri Uttam Gondkar stated, “With the feeling that this Shree Saibaba Sansthan is our family, keeping the Sai devotees in the center of all considerations, all employees should work with an attitude of service. Accordingly the Rs. 4.83 crores painting and repair works having been awarded to Admirecon Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai, this work will be completed in the coming 8 months. Also, the about 2000 people capacity, 19,500 sq. ft. Tensile Fabric Shed having been erected at a cost of Rs. 1.3 crores, this shed will serve to provide various amenities for the use of the Sai devotees.

The worship of the Bolero class Mahindra Company vehicle, 3 cargo carriers and 2 cars of Innova class vehicle of Toyota Company was performed by the Chairman of the Sansthan Dr. Suresh Haware and the dignitaries on the occasion.

hospital. The percentage of patients getting well in the Sansthan’s hospital is 90. A meeting of patients and their kin was held a few days back. They expressed satisfaction at the facilities provided by both the hospitals of the Sansthan. The Sansthan is striving to make both the hospitals ultra modern.

Having made treatment in the Sansthan’s Shri Sai Nath Hospital free, surgeries are done free of cost for yellow and saffron ration card holders under the Mahatma Phule Jeevandayi Yojana in the Shri Sai Baba Hospital. For others too surgeries are done at minimum cost. Over 12 lakh patients have availed medical service till date at both the hospitals.

Today the whole nation is witnessing abuse in healthcare. Expenses for unnecessary medicines and unnecessary investigations are uncalled for and huge. This expense is therefore unaffordable for common people. Keeping this in mind, the Shree Saibaba Sansthan has decided to provide free medical service to the poor, deprived, af icted, denied patients and with the same objective these camps are being organized.” Stating that these camps started in the Shri Sai Baba Samadhi Centenary Year will continue to be held every year in future too, he thanked all medical officers and employees for organizing this camp.

Pitambare, in her introductory address stated that 450 patients registered their names in this camp. Difficult and complex ear, nose and throat surgeries will be performed on 75 of these patients. These will be done free of cost in the Shri Sai Nath Hospital. Similarly hearing aids will be distributed free of cost to 300 patients as per their need by Dr. Narayan Vyas of Bhagwan Mahavir Viklang Sahayta Samiti, Jaipur.”

Specialist doctors, medical officers and employees who offered great service in the camp were felicitated on behalf of the Sansthan.
